P4C has an outstanding opportunity for a temporary (6 month), 60% - 100% FTE Research Coordinator. This position will support the evaluation of the Alliance for Child Welfare Excellence, a partnership with the Department of Children Youth and Families (DCYF) providing training and education for licensed caregivers and the child welfare workforce. This position will involve collaboration, research design, data collection and analysis, and contributing to dissemination of evaluation findings. Our team's focus is implementing continuous quality improvement within a large public agency.

This position will promote evidence informed child welfare policy and practice by reviewing research literature, coordinating evaluation projects, designing data collection tools, conducting data analysis, and sharing findings to inform program development. This position will require strong collaboration skills to address barriers to implementation, support the use of technology and the use of data to for continuous quality improvement.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Data Analysis – 35%

  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative analyses and interpret findings, with an emphasis on using descriptive statistics and thematic analyses to convey survey findings clearly and accurately.

  • Support formative evaluation through analysis of curriculum review and observation data; summarize feedback to inform revisions and improvements.Data design, collection and management – 30%

  • Create and manage data collection instruments, especially on-line surveys, and occasionally interviews and focus groups.

  • Understand and track survey samples and response rates using multiple data sources

  • Review curriculum and observe delivery, use curriculum review tools to provide detailed feedback to Alliance workgroups.

  • Provide timely response to partner inquiries, and actively seek resolutions to challenges related to design and use of online surveys.

  • Collect, enter, and manage qualitative and quantitative data using web-based platforms and statistical software such as REDCap and Microsoft Excel.

  • Ensure client confidentiality within cloud-based data collection systems and adhere to ethical guidelines of research with human subjects.Teaming and collaboration – 25%

  • Engage with Alliance staff to gather necessary information for pilot evaluations and to keep learner survey tools up to date and to communicate updates and make requests.

  • Track project timelines and deliverables. Communicate proactively with supervisor to manage deliverables and respond to shifting priorities.

  • Participate in evaluation team meetings, P4C all-staff meetings, and maintain positive relationships and timely communication with Alliance and DCYF partners.

  • Train peers and partners in new software tools and technological initiatives as assigned.Dissemination – 10%

  • Create data visualizations and summarize findings using report templates and generating new templates as needed.

  • Respond to ad hoc reporting requests.

  • Present findings to Alliance Continuous Quality Assurance Team, Alliance Evaluation Committee, and course development workgroups.

  • Develop narrative reports to share qualitative and quantitative findings to inform ongoing quality improvement efforts with Alliance and DCYF partners.

  • Other duties as assigned. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Master's Degree in Social Work, Public Health, Social Sciences or related field.

  • Minimum of two years of experience working in a child welfare, youth and family services, program evaluation, research or analysis setting.Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to work effectively with all partners, including experience working with people with diverse social identities, and working across differences with cultural humility.

  • Demonstrated commitment to promoting equity and inclusion, anti-racism and social justice.

  • Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Attention to detail and ability to track over time.

  • Knowledge of APA style for professional writing.

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Adaptability in learning new software tools.

  • Washington State approved human subject’s training (must be completed within 30 days of hire).

  • Experience translating complex ideas and data into user friendly language.

  • Demonstrated ability with qualitative and quantitative analysis, visualization and interpretation.

  • Demonstrated ability to balance multiple demands simultaneously under time constraint and meet project deadlines and deliverables.

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Attention to detail and quality. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong initiative, problem-solving and self-starting approach, flexibility, the ability to deal effectively with rapid growth and change, and the ability to organize and prioritize work quickly in response to changing needs.

  • Facility with web-based survey tools such as REDCap or Qualtrics.

  • Knowledge of the US and Washington state child welfare policy and practice.

  • Strengths-based perspective with a focus on continuous quality improvement.

  • Familiarity with IRB applications and procedures, managing confidential data collection and analysis, and maintaining ethical standards that guide research and evaluation.

  • Experience with phone interviewing.

  • Descriptive quantitative and qualitative data analysis skills.

  • Experience in the use of statistical software such as SPSS, R, STATA.

  • Experience with data visualization software such as Microsoft Power BI or Tableau.
