Seattle Children’s Hospital Research Coordinator II - Licensed Physical Therapist in Seattle, Washington
Responsibilities: Seattle Children's provides a unique opportunity for a physical therapist to work on a multi-disciplinary team to provide evidence-based therapeutic care as well as collect motor function outcome measures on novel clinical trials as a clinical evaluator, advancing medical knowledge and improving patient care outcomes for the neuromuscular and neurodevelopmental patient population. We are a close-knit program that offers comprehensive care and support to children with a neuromuscular and neurodevelopmental condition, such as spina bifida, DMD, SMA, FSHD, CMT, and others. This position will work with programs that diversify themselves through clinical trials, post-market registries, internally funded research pilot studies, monthly inter-disciplinary SuperClinics focused on various neuromuscular or neurodevelopmental diseases, encouraging staff to attend professional meetings, continuing educational courses, and much more. The successful candidate will receive on-the-job training for this specialized position. Duties in this position include but are not limited to providing physical therapy assessments, plans and interventions; administering manual therapy and/or therapeutic exercises/activities/modalities; evaluating need for adaptive equipment; contributing to research studies as the primary clinical evaluator; and assessing patients for success as research candidates. Clinical evaluator tasks will further include administration of protocol specific functional outcome measures, maintenance and calibration of equipment, maintaining training certifications, and accurate data documentation. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES & FUNCTIONS: Assessing patient status. Willing to learn and use validated neuromuscular and assessments of muscular dystrophies in the neuromuscular population. Contributing to and conducting research relevant to the furthering of care and management of the neuromuscular population. Collaborating with the team to create care and treatment plans for patients. Maintaining familiarity with physical therapy techniques and developments in industry trends. Participating in departmental activities and provide input regarding patient care. Coordinating care and services with other team members and serve as a resource to the team. Other duties as assigned. Requirements: Required Education/Experience: - Professional entry level degree in physical therapy (including BS, MPT, or DPT) - Minimum of 3 years experience in pediatric physical therapy practice to include the evaluation of pediatric patients. Required Credentials: - Current Washington State licensure to practice as a physical therapist. - Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider Preferred: - Master's Degree or Doctorate in physical therapy or related rehabilitation science - Prior experience in the evaluation of pediatric patients- - Prior experience in clinical research coordination - Training in CAPR (Controlled Air Purifying Respirator) sytems - Completion of the Good Clinical Practice Course recognized by Seattle Children's IRB - Private PT liability insurance - Ability to flex working schedule to meet the needs of the job description Min to Max Hourly Salary: $44.46 - $66.69 /hr Min to Max Annual Salary: $92,482.00 - $138,723.00 /yr Salary Information: This compensation range was calculated based on full-time employment (2080 hours worked per calendar year).
