Amazon Reality Capture Technical Program Manager in Seattle, Washington

Description

Amazon is building the next generation software, hardware, and processes that will run the global network of fulfillment centers that move many millions of units of inventory, and ensure that customers get what they want when we promised. We do this by building automated solutions to handle things that technology does well, while relying on people to handle things that humans do well. We are constantly innovating in the ways we are automating and accelerating the delivery of products and packages which includes building custom hardware and applying robotics, autonomy, supply chain optimization, machine learning, manipulation, image processing, and real-time data processing using distributed systems.

We are seeking a talented and solutions-oriented Technical Program Manager (TPM) to contribute to delivering transformational innovation to the business. As a Tech Transformation TPM, you will work closely with field specialists, BIM engineers, system development engineers and cross-functional teams to improve the quality and productivity of automation deployment for Amazon’s fulfillment network. This role includes the following responsibilities:

  • Implement innovative technologies by driving process change and managing stakeholder engagement

  • Develop a technical understanding of Transformation programs, such as Reality Capture, to tailor deliverables to various customers and ensure on-time delivery

  • Own complex scheduling and resource balancing for Transformation initiatives and programs

  • Analyze data and devise metrics to track impact of programs on deployment, including cost savings, deployment efficiency, and scalability

  • Monitor the progress of Transformation team goals, ensuring prompt updates and reporting to leadership

  • Partner closely with technical leads to assess the business impact of new initiatives and recommend the best options based on quantified benefits, costs, and operational impacts

  • Manage competing priorities across a wide range of stakeholders, ensuring time is focused on the highest value activities and issues

Basic Qualifications

  • BS in Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical, Physics, Operations Research, or equivalent

  • Ability to understand and discuss technical concepts, schedule trade-offs, and evaluate new concepts with technical leads

  • Experience with program management, tracking complex schedules, and allocating resources

  • Experience working across teams, defining program requirements, and optimizing cross-team processes to improve efficiency and delivery

  • Confidence operating independently and working with ambiguity

  • Ability to deliver in a fast-paced environment

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3 years of program management experience within a technical function

  • Experience devising metrics, tracking goals, and analyzing business impact of programs/initiatives

  • Able to travel throughout North America and Europe up to 50% of the time

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $101,700/year in our lowest geographic market up to $197,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
