Description Responsibilities The Coordinator is responsible for organizing a plan that meets client deadlines and maintains both BNSF and Port fluidity by leveraging internal dray community. The role requires the individual to understand complex intermodal, port and dray industry regulatory guidelines and follow the regulatory guidelines while establishing the terminal plan. The scope of the Coordinator includes the following procedures and tasks: Forecast, manage, create and augment terminal plan with BNSF, Port, and Dray community. Communication of plan to all key stake holders to ensure execution of plan is clearly established. Oversight and understanding of inbound/outbound vessel discharge and its effect on port, terminal, and dray operations. Assign available trucking support to meet or exceed service levels as required by Port and BNSF. High degree of emphasis in this job role focuses on interaction between several parties to ensure the service and fluidity of both Port and BNSF Operations. Clearly communicate terminal plan with team and coordinate/augment plan with Lift operations team as needed. Manage holds and exceptions on individual units Confirm Hub Manager receives correct train, vessel and dray information Use the Terminal Operating System (TOS) and other support systems to locate train and vessel information for REMPREX Team. Log information in client reports Mentor new personnel in Coordinator procedures Manage and correct for driver exceptions as needed while maintaining high degree of customer satisfaction. Other duties as needs and assigned by REMPREX management. Requirements The Coordinator role requires the following: College degree in logistics, mathematics, analytical thinking, or related field, preferred Four years' experience working in the transportation industry, preferred Minimum of 12 year's management experience working in a related intermodal capacity Strong ability to analyze and solve problems on an immediate basis, and to develop and implement procedural changes without supervision Possess strong interpersonal skills to support work as a team Ability to provide premium customer service to Client and Customer alike. Ability to multi task in an evolving work environment with dramatic swings in workload. Excellent time management skills Strong written and oral communication skills to train subordinates, peers, and senior level managers effectively Skills to adapt to rapidly changing customer requests and requirements, seasonal variances in workload, and industry needs and requirements Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel Ability to pass and maintain certifications or proficiencies in the following areas: eRAILSAFE Certification REMPREX and Client Safety Rules and Regulations Physical To perform the essential functions of this job, an employee must meet the physical demands in this job description.
