Job Summary

The Public Sector Field Solutions Engineer is a technology generalist working with large customers and engaging in face-to-face meetingsin the SLED space. They will uncover and develop opportunities by building strong relationships with the customeralongside our sales teams.This individual will consult on data center, edge, core, cloud, security, collaboration,and services, and will understand how that technology enables business. This position is a remote rolerequiring residencein the state ofWashington to support business needs asdeterminedby SHI management.

Responsibilities

Include, but are not limited to:

  • Partner withField Account Executives inthearea to be the customer’strusted advisoras an IT generalist.

  • Take ownership of thesolution practice pipelinebydeveloping astrategy for top prospectsanddiscovering,retaining,andacquiringnewbusiness.

  • Uncover a customer’s technologyopportunitieswithintheData Center, Cloud, Network, Security, Collaboration,and Services space.

  • Strategize and develop solutions to fitcustomers’ needs andbudget.

  • Engage with multiple layers of contacts within a client’s organization - including but not limited to CIO, IT Directors, CTO, etc. 

  • Educate and developpartnered salesteams on technical selling, product training,services,and technologytrends.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience

  • 3+ years ofexperience working in complex Data Center salesopportunities. 

  • 3+ years of experience within Converged Infrastructure, Disaster Recovery and Virtualizationtechnologies

  • 3+ years ofdemonstratedexpertiseinmainstream technologies: Dell/EMC, NetApp, HPE, Cisco, Palo Alto, Pure Storage,Azure,and AWS 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3+yearsofpreviousITManagement/ Directorexperience.

  • Experience supporting SLED and Higher Education organizations.

  • Attention to detail, organization, andfollow-upskills

  • Initiative to research and resolve problems with a positiveattitude

Unique Requirements

  • Travel to client locations required up to 65%

Additional Information

  • The estimated annual pay range for this position is $160,000 - $220,000 which includes a base salary and bonus. The compensation for this position is dependent on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location and, therefore, will vary from individual to individual. Benefits may include, but are not limited to, medical, vision, dental, 401K, and flexible spending.
