Amazon Program Manager – Category Support, Amazon Fresh Grocery in Seattle, Washington

Description

Amazon is looking for a bright, customer obsessed, and driven individual to join Amazon Fresh as a support partner for our Category team. This role will own tactical execution and processes that help our Category and Vendor Managers focus on the strategic needs of their businesses. This is an opportunity for someone to learn about our business and processes, show an ability to deliver tangible results and strong ownership, and put themselves on a path to becoming a category owner or vendor manager.

In this role, you will engage directly with multiple internal and external teams to support our product catalog and customer experience in-store and online. This can include everything from new product launches and setup, managing pricing, preparing for assortment resets, reviewing and presenting industry trends, working with marketing to plan and execute awareness campaigns, and much more. Given the breadth of activities, you will build and utilize a wide range of skills to work across major functional areas such as merchandising, buying, pricing, inventory management, operations, online marketing, and finance.

The ideal candidate should be eager to learn, interested and willing to fully own processes and execution, be detail oriented, and have strong internal and external customer service skills. Amazon Fresh is a new and growing business, and this candidate will be required to operate in ambiguous situations. As a result, a collaborative attitude, great communication skills, and a keen sense of initiative are critical to success. Is a self-starter who will take ownership of projects and business problems to a successful result.

Key job responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and fix issues with our product catalog

  • Setting up new products

  • Manage processes around product pricing

  • Review and share industry trends and data

  • Manage and review marketing campaigns and product promotions

  • Use various tools and systems

  • Use Excel and dashboards to identify challenges and analyze data

  • Provide visibility to Category and Vendor Managers about your work and results

  • Collaborate with cross-functional partner teams, including marketing, instock, merchandising, and category

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent

  • Experience with Excel

  • 2+ years of program or project management experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Excel at an intermediate level (e.g., pivot tables & charts, multiple criteria lookups, nested logical/IF formulas, data cleansing, array formulas, etc.)

  • Retail experience, particularly in grocery

  • Past experience with buying, inventory management, or program operations

  • Knowledge of Lean principles and DMAIC methodology -Experience in MS Access and SQL -Experience in requirement gathering and ability to write clear and detailed requirement document

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $47,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $107,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
