The Worldwide Sustainability External Relations Team is guided by our vision to establish Amazon as the most recognizable and respected global sustainability leader. The Global IMPACT team—Integrated Marketing, Partnerships, Action, Communications, and The Climate Pledge (TCP)—establishes Amazon’s leadership in corporate sustainability by demonstrating how we use our size and scale to have a positive impact on people and the planet. This team works both within Amazon and externally on partnerships and joint initiatives..

This candidate has a strong technology background combined with a passion for storytelling and experience in product marketing. We’re looking for an excellent writer and creative thinker who can influence and maintain enterprise-wide consistency for written communication and message delivery.

The role requires meticulous attention to detail, a collaborative working style, and ability to articulate the most complex technical concepts in terms that make sense to customers, press, and the public. This is a unique opportunity to play a critical role in the development and delivery of Sustainability most important solutions.

Key job responsibilities

• Influence and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to accelerate delivery of Amazon’s 2040 net zero carbon commitment

• Collaborate with AWS teams to help address customer business challenges and accelerate the adoption of AWS services

• Lead customer communication and content strategy, from ideation and delivery, to measurement and evaluation

• Deliver high-impact messaging, storylines, content, and marketing programs for AWS sustainability solutions, including executive materials, web copy, presentations, and articles

• Develop and implement a cross-functional center of excellence to ensure stakeholders are coordinated in their efforts to communicate Worldwide Sustainability and AWS’ most important messages

• Develop and execute bar-raising programs on writing across product marketing and product management teams

• Cultivate a distinctive brand and employ creativity to drive program awareness, generate excitement, and get stakeholders to take necessary action

• Develop robust strategies that utilize a variety of external and internal channels

Basic Qualifications

  • 9+ years of professional non-internship marketing experience

  • Experience using data and metrics to drive improvements

  • Experience building, executing and scaling cross-functional marketing programs

  • Experience driving direction and alignment with cross-functional teams

Preferred Qualifications

  • 7+ years of product marketing experience

  • 7+ years of software, implementation, or consulting experience

  • Experience working cross-functionally across marketing, product management, analytics, UX, and research

  • Sustainability, climate, environmental and/or social responsibility expertise

  • Excellent time management, resource management, and planning skills

  • Superior oral and written communication skills

  • Experience facilitating agreement among multiple senior stakeholders with competing priorities

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $136,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $252,900/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
