Amazon Sponsored Products is a world class advertising business. We are responsible for defining and delivering a collection of advertising tools that drive shopper discovery and advertiser growth. Our Rules products are strategically important to our advertisers. Rules enable advertiser to take actions on their campaigns based on product, shopper, and performance signals, while still letting advertisers tailor their budgeting, targeting, and bidding strategies to their advertising objectives. We support the Rules experience with helpful recommendations and explainability driven by cutting edge science (Deep Learning, LLM/GenAI, Optimzation). We also provide fully automated objective-based strategies that further simplify campaign management.

We're looking for an innovative and customer-obsessed Principal Product Manager who will obsess over the details to deliver products with next-level quality and performance. You will define product vision and drive execution for products and features related to strategy-based automation of advertising. You will engage with advertisers, integrators, and partner teams to help formulate your vision, and define the features, goals and metrics that drive a substantial science and engineering team to turn your vision into product. You will tackle challenging problems and coordinate high profile projects across multiple teams to ensure our goals are met. You will use customer anecdotes to find inspiration, and data analysis to confirm your suspicions. You'll contribute to the organizational planning for one of the largest advertising programs on the planet, present to senior executives. You will evangelize your vision and promote your wins to build your reputation as a leader.

Key job responsibilities

  • Develop the vision, product strategy, and product development of key Advertising services and experiences with industry-wide impact.

  • Create buy-in for the product vision both internally and with key external partners.

  • Drive the first and subsequent launches for the service both from product and Go-to-Market perspective

  • Develop detailed business requirements and user stories that can be used to create product specifications and architecture for each product or feature.

  • Work closely with engineering, science, and program management to deliver products. Manage prioritization and trade-offs among customer experience, performance and operational support load.

  • Proactively identify and resolve strategic issues that may impair the team’s ability to meet strategic, financial, and technical goals.

  • Communicate your plans to internal stakeholders from across and at all levels within Amazon through 2-6 page documents.

Basic Qualifications

  • 8+ years of end to end product delivery experience

  • 8+ years of technical product or program management experience

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product

  • Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition

  • Experience leading engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product

  • Experience technical product management

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working directly with Engineers on product enhancements

  • Experience in project management methodologies, business analysis, or process improvement

  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative/technical field such as computer science, engineering, statistics

  • Knowledge of SQL

  • Experience working directly with Scientists on ML/DL/AI-driven products

  • Advertising Experience

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $161,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $279,900/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
