Amazon QuickSight powers data-driven organizations with unified business intelligence (BI) at hyperscale. With QuickSight, all users can meet varying analytic needs from the same source of truth through modern interactive dashboards, paginated reports, embedded analytics, and natural language queries. With Amazon Q in QuickSight, business analysts and business users can use natural language to build, discover, and share meaningful insights in seconds, turning insights into impact faster.

We are looking for an experienced Principal UX Designer that leads by doing, values diversity of thought and background, has a passion for solving highly complex problems at a massive scale and brings their best self to work every day. You will improve, iterate, and reimagine the product experience to shape the next generation of analytics tools. You will partner with a wide variety of internal and external customers to craft a modern BI experience for one of the fasted growing areas of software.

Key job responsibilities

• Creation, implementation, and successful delivery of significantly complex design solutions where the product suite or business strategy may not be defined.

• You grow a culture of inclusion and collaboration.

• As a key influencer, you bring industry experience and context to CX, creating customer delight, and affect cross-org (and cross discipline) design strategies. You set design excellence standards and are able to evangelize them.

• Lead strategic alignment across orgs using significant expertise to advise on core UX disciplines, methods, and/or processes.

• Flexibility, adapting your approach to meet the needs of the team, project, or products.

• Use data and customer insights to solve complex problems at scale, and confidently share design solutions with senior leaders.

• Use systems-level design thinking to drive design solutions that scale.

Basic Qualifications

  • 10+ years of design experience

  • Have an available online portfolio

  • Experience with best practices for User Interface Design, Information Architecture, and Interaction Design

  • Experience in life cycle design projects from design strategy through execution

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience providing and effectively communicating strategic and tactical recommendations based on data

  • Business intelligence and data visualization product design

  • Proven success with strategic design artifacts to articulate customer needs across large-scale, complex journeys (i.e.; service design and service blue prints)

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $131,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $244,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
