Seattle Children's Postdoctoral Fellow - Jaspan Lab in Seattle, Washington

Responsibilities:

The Jaspan laboratory at Seattle Children’s Research Institute has an immediate opening for a postdoctoral fellow. Our laboratory is broadly interested in the interplay between host microbial and immunological factors as they impact susceptibility to infectious diseases the gut and genital tract. For more:

We are looking for a curious and motivated individual to be a part of our team working on the human virome. The successful candidate will be responsible for integrating large datasets including viral, bacterial and immunologic data, to answer important questions regarding the influence of viral populations at mucosal surfaces to human health. The position may also involve in vitro cell culture and molecular assays to validate findings. An individual with a PhD or MD and strong computational background and molecular biology skills will be given priority.

Requirements:

Required Education/Experience:

  • Doctorate degree (PhD/DVM/MD) in specialty area from an accredited university training program.

  • Experience using basic research techniques of specialty area.

Required Credentials:

  • N/A.

Preferred:

  • Previous experience conducting research in the pediatric arena.

  • Experience in protocol and manuscript development and in grant writing.

Min to Max Hourly Salary: $31.48 - $38.72 /hr

Min to Max Annual Salary: $65,478.40 - $80,537.00 /yr

Salary Information:

This compensation range was calculated based on full-time employment (2080 hours worked per calendar year). Offers are determined by multiple factors including equity, skills, experience, and expertise, and may vary within the range provided.
