To further Blue Origin's mission of having millions of people living and working in space, we are building sustainable infrastructure for our transport of crew and cargo from Earth to the Lunar Surface. We are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise, leadership skills, and commitment to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight. Responsibilities: Broad materials & processes support for metallic materials including additive manufacturing (AM), forging, casting, forming, extrusion, plating, coating, welding, brazing, anodization,andpassivation. Support design, analysis, materials selection, process development, and M&P qualification for space vehicles Review production drawings for large complex assemblies systematically, documenting the review to the established requirements Responsible for M&P signatory release of engineering drawings for parts and assemblies Lead and coordinate internal and external M&P efforts for additive manufacturing, including the development of material specifications, process specifications, supplier qualifications, part qualifications, mechanical testing, and customer-facing updates Support the development of internal engineering and quality processes to standardize and accelerate material evaluation, implementation, and qualification Collaborate with design engineers to ensure part designs are compatible with AM processes Work with cross-functional teams within the Lunar organization and other business units Qualifications: Minimum of a B.S. degree in Aerospace, Material Science, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field. 5+ Years of demonstrated AM M&P Engineering experience on a production flight or space program Experience with AM aluminum and/or titanium for aerospace applications Demonstrated experience developing and executing part qualification test plans for AM components Familiarity with standard methods for testing mechanical properties of aerospace-grade materials, particularly AM materials Knowledge of industry standards for material data analysis (e.g.MMPDS, MAPTIS, CMH-17) Experience organizing and managing materials and process-related data in a company-accessible database Ability to travel to support development and testing opportunities at other Blue Origin and vendor sites. Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion. Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
