Description

The Manager III, Risk in the Account Trust team is a critical leadership role responsible for mitigating the impact of bad actors on our customers. Reporting directly to senior leadership, this role demands a strategic thinker with exceptional leadership skills and a proven track record of driving results in a fast-paced, global environment.

We are looking for an experienced Risk Management leader manager who specializes in building risky identity, supply chain and verification solutions. If you've been searching for a role that's complex, fast-paced, and impactful, this is it.

Key job responsibilities

Strategic Vision: Align program vision with business goals and develop risk strategies to safeguard Amazon customers.

Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of risk managers to execute the risk strategy, drive results, and deliver program objectives. Foster a culture of high performance, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Project Management: Lead complex, large-scale projects from conceptualization through implementation, ensuring alignment with business objectives and customer experience goals.

Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with Product, Tech, Operations, Analytics, and Legal teams to define risk strategies, design metrics, and support experiments to achieve program objectives.

Risk Mitigation: Identify gaps in risk controls, measure impact, and drive remediation efforts. Make recommendations to leadership on opportunities for risk mitigation based on established risk tolerance.

People Leadership: Empower and develop a high-performing team of risk management professionals. Provide guidance, coaching, and feedback to support their career development and improve operational and quality output.

Operational Excellence: Own end-to-end risk processes across functional silos, geographic regions, and business units. Lead a team of 100+ employees across 6 sites, directly impacting operational metrics and managing a complex risk management portfolio.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; advanced degree preferred.

  • 8+ years of experience in risk management, fraud prevention, or related fields.

  • Proven track record of leading complex, cross-functional projects in a global environment.

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire teams to achieve results.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Experience in e-commerce, technology, or financial services industries preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Masters Degree or an MBA from a Tier I/II school

  • PMP certification

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $119,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $198,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
