Description

Work hard, have fun, and make history with Amazon's legal team. As a Legal Assistant you will be a key member of the AWS Sales & Marketing Global Services legal team, helping us support the rapidly growing business.

The Amazon Web Services Legal team is looking for a smart, motivated, and collaborative legal assistant to provide administrative assistance to attorneys, contracts managers, and business partners focusing on AWS Sales and Marketing, customer support and other matters. The successful candidate will possess the ability to work efficiently and independently; manage and complete high volumes of tasks and projects with little guidance; react with appropriate urgency to situations and events that require a quick response or turnaround; take effective action without having to know the total picture; and think creatively and be proactive in solving problems that affect people within the group or other related groups. The candidate will also be client-service oriented, have great attention to detail and organization skills, and can easily switch gears. A high level of professionalism, integrity, and discretion in handling confidential information is essential.

Key job responsibilities

Coordinating contract approvals, signatures, contract searches, organization, and filings

Contributing and tracking short- and long-term projects

Creating and maintaining internal legal and business facing standard operating procedures and other resources

Effectively using and managing all software, systems, and tools used by the Legal Department; teaching team members and business users how to effectively use tools

Identifying and/or executing on legal and business-facing process improvements, including simplification measures

Providing general administrative support, including calendaring, coordinating events, assisting with presentations and trainings.

Acting as a primary resource or “go to” for the team.

May also be provided with the opportunity to analyze, draft, and negotiate standard form contracts.

Basic Qualifications

  • 1+ years of professional or military experience

  • 2+ years of administrative assistant experience

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and applications

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working proactively and independently, meeting deadlines, and delivering on projects and tasks

  • Experience in a technology company or other legal experience

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $38,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $92,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
