Lead Manager Data Science:

Lead a team of data scientists to build machine learning and AI-based models that directly support the decision making process. Possess exceptional business acumen; identify and understand business problems from strategy through operational impacts. Identify opportunities, real-time & batch products such as a new store recommendation model, delivery and other sales channel optimization; identify most profitable store formats through modeling. Migrate AI models to the production-level AI Reserve platform. Identify opportunities for the use of statistical methodologies (e.g., statistical process control, confidence intervals, design of experiments) to optimally solve business problems. Mentor/instruct more junior data scientists in best practice around the proper use and productionization of statistics and models to solve complex business problems and questions of interest. Advocate for and assists director in annual Ops Planning and Budget processes.

Telecommuting permitted up to 100% from anywhere in the US.

Full time employment, Monday -- Friday, 40 hours per week. Pay range: $190,847 - $209,500 per year.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Master's or foreign equivalent degree in Statistics, Math, Computer Science, Engineering or a related field, and 6 years of experience in a data science related role; or Bachelor's or foreign equivalent degree in Statistics, Math, Computer Science, Engineering or a related field, and 7 years of experience (of which 5 years must be post bachelor's and progressive) in a data science related role.

Of the required experience, must have at least 5 years of experience in implementing and deploying statistical modeling & machine learning techniques, including some experience with regression modeling, classification modeling, and unsupervised learning techniques.

Must have at least 5 years of experience in programming with a statistical/analytic programming language (Python, or R).

Must have at least 5 years of experience in programming in SQL and working with relational database structures.   Must have at least 4 years of experience with a data visualization tool (Tableau, PowerBI, or Excel).   Must have at least 4 years of experience maintaining codebases and version control of models and pipelines for deployment (GitHub, or AWS CodeCommit).

Must have at least 4 years of experience with machine learning methodologies (scikit-learn, MLLib, caret etc.).   Must have at least 4 years of experience in creating Data ETL jobs to extract data from cloud storage layers, distributed file systems, APIs, and/or FTP/SFTP servers.

Must have at least 4 years of experience working with high volume data in a distributed data processing environment (Spark, Cloudera, DataBricks, etc.).

Must be willing and able to travel domestically up to 5%.
