The Laboratory Helper (NE H NI SEIU 925 Non Supv) is to produce and distribute fly media for research labs on the UW main campus.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare media for insect (Drosophila; fruit fly) cultures once a week, using standard methods and recipes.

  • Maintain an inventory and order supplies for media preparation.

  • Communicate with users to collect information for weekly orders.

  • Ensure uniform and reliable media production.All work will be performed under the supervision of lab technician, lab head or Principal Investigator. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • High school graduation of GED certificate; OR one year experience as a Lab Helper or equivalent. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Able to work independently after initial training period.

  • Adhere to a regular fly media preparation and delivery schedule.
