ANCHOR QEA, LLC Internship - Environmental Consulting | Engineering in Seattle, Washington

Internship - Environmental Consulting Location: Seattle, WA Practice Area: Engineering Compensation: $22.00 / hour What Is the Opportunity? Anchor QEA is seeking interns across a broad range of practice areas for our 2024 Internship Program. We will require interns to regularly come into an office and potentially perform fieldwork, depending on project needs. Interns will experience a combination of hands-on fieldwork and a defined project within their scope of study, as well as the opportunity for exposure to other service areas within our firm. There will be opportunities to work with senior- and principal-level professionals, assisting with project-related tasks and gaining insight into the world of professional consulting. Interns will have a solid understanding of environmental consulting at the conclusion of the program. What Are We Looking For? Current undergraduate or graduate students majoring in a field related to one of our areas of expertise: Engineering (coastal, geotechnical, environmental, civil, etc.) Environmental Sciences (chemistry, biology, ecology, marine science, etc.) Planning and Restoration (urban design, landscape architecture, sustainability, historic preservation, etc.) Technology and Innovation (data science, geospatial science, etc.) Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to interpret and apply technical information Excellent organizational skills Project management mindset to effectively manage priorities and meet deadlines Desire to work collaboratively with others to accomplish goals Balance of a professional attitude while having fun What Are the Responsibilities? Deliver a defined capstone project with assistance from senior engineers, scientists, planners, and other professionals. To support this goal, interns may be asked to: Support implementation of remedial investigations/feasibility studies and design evaluations Conduct research and analysis around prospective clients, trends, strategies, industries, activation needs, etc. Assist with field planning, data analysis, and report writing Assist with research and data entry for new business initiatives Partner to complete field sampling activities in-water and/or on land, project field documentation and supporting preparation of figures and tables for project deliverables Conduct field activities, including collection of sediment, soil, water, air, waste, or biota samples or other field tasks Complete OSHA HAZWOPER training as required Update documents, calendars, schedules, weekly statuses, etc. What Is the Timeline for the 2024 Internship Program? March 1 through March 15: Application submittal period April 15 through April 19: "Experience Anchor QEA" Interview Day takes place in selected offices May 1 through May 5: Accepted applicants receive internship offers May 21 through September 30: Internships occur (start and end dates may vary within this period) Further details will be provided during the interview process.
