Actalent Hardware Systems Engineer in Seattle, Washington

Description:

Develop, and optimize hardware systems for data collection ground and flight platforms. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, electrical engineers, and mechanical engineers, to ensure seamless integration of hardware components. Conduct research, analysis, and trade studies to select appropriate hardware solutions, taking into account performance, weight, power consumption, and cost considerations. Create and maintain detailed hardware requirements specifications and documentation for drone components and systems. Develop and execute hardware testing procedures and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations. Troubleshoot and resolve hardware-related issues in a timely manner to ensure the reliability and performance of our data collection systems. Utilize test instrumentation and measurement tools such as multimeter, oscilloscope, accelerometers, thermocouples, and data logging equipment to support troubleshooting and hardware test. Participate in the development of prototypes and contribute to the overall design and development process, authoring content for and coordinating design reviews. Provide technical support and expertise to internal Operations and Maintenance teams to resolve field issues and develop novel hardware sustainment solutions as required. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies to drive continuous improvement and innovation in data collection ground and flight hardware development. Conduct telemetry log analysis to assess vehicle and payload flight performance.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Proven experience in hardware design and development. Strong understanding of electrical design, materials selection, electronic circuits, and sensors. Familiarity with 3D modeling and CAD tools for hardware design. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, and demonstrated experience of applying the Root Cause Corrective Action process. Sound understanding of the Systems Engineering Process. Strong verbal communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams. Strong written technical documentation skills. Self-motivated with a passion for innovation and technology.
