Amazon Finance Manager, Worldwide Sustainability Finance in Seattle, Washington

Description

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Worldwide Sustainability (WWS) Finance team to support Amazon’s sustainability initiatives. In this role you will work with teams across Amazon to support ESG-related regulatory filings including the EU’s Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and the related EU Taxonomy and European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS) regulations. In addition, you will help develop the capabilities to assess and report on the risks climate change poses to Amazon’s businesses globally. As a Finance Manager, you will work closely with Sustainability leads across Amazon to develop business strategies and analytical insights for supporting Amazon’s sustainability goals. Key job responsibilities

• Lead finance efforts with respect to developing, implementing, and executing the internal operating model related to data collection to support ESG-related regulatory filings (e.g., ESRS, EU Taxonomy, etc.).

• Develop quantitative metrics for global mandatory regulatory disclosures under the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD).

• Develop methodologies for quantifying and analyzing the potential financial impact of various hazards (e.g., wildfire, flood, etc.) for different climate change scenarios.

• Utilize climate risk analysis to inform regulatory reporting related to climate risks.

• Perform ad hoc analyses to help leaders solve business problems and understand the financial implications of alternative business decisions.

• Influence business decisions with effective verbal and written communication, data driven analysis and modeling, and presentation of options and alternatives.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science), or Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of quantitative role (engineering, process re-engineering, quality assurance) experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • 6+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience

  • 6+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience

  • MBA, or CPA

  • Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)

  • Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results

  • Knowledge of SQL/ETL

  • 6+ years of building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making experience

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $85,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $179,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
