We are looking for a dynamic, organized self-starter to join our Private Brands Finance team. This role will be the key Finance Partner for North America Hardlines Private Brands, managing financial analysis, reporting and planning and supporting business leaders with actionable insights and recommendations to achieve our goals and initiatives. The ideal candidate will be a creative and analytical problem solver who is comfortable in a fast-paced environment, a collaborative leader to work with a dynamic network of Business and Finance partners, and an innovator to drive continuous improvement and automation in P&L analysis, planning and reporting processes. He/she enjoys working with a diverse group of individuals, and have a proven ability to dive deep to solve complex business and finance problems.

Key job responsibilities

  • Provide Private Brands leadership support by publishing timely financial reports, appendices and insights for Monthly/Quarterly Business Reviews, and Operational Planning docs

  • Create meaningful reporting and analysis structure that will drive business improvements and recommend cost reductions

  • Recommend, develop and implement financial controllership tools to guide our business partners in achieving our OP2 topline and profitability goals

  • Work with partner teams including category finance to deliver continuous improvements to worldwide planning and reporting processes

  • Partner with the central Business Intelligence team to standardize and centralize key business performance metrics

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience

  • BA or BS in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a highly analytical field (e.g., Engineering, Math, Computer Science) and 5+ years of finance experience, or Master’s degree and 3+ years of finance experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • 6+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience

  • 6+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience

  • MBA, or CPA

  • Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)

  • Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $81,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $179,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
