Starbucks Coffee Company Data Engineer Lead in Seattle, Washington

Data Engineer Lead:

  • Lead data engineering team to build and support batch, real time big data pipeline and technology capabilities on Microsoft Azure and Databricks.
  • Assist in the definition of solution architecture that ensures solutions are built within consistent frameworks.
  • Support Data science/analytical workloads in data preparation, feature extraction by reshaping, wrangling and blending enterprise data sets and ad hoc data sets into data assets that support exploratory data science.
  • Perform required data validation.
  • Operationalize Machine Learning models in Batch and Real Time Data Pipelines to create scalable analytical applications.
  • Lead resolution activities for complex data issues.

Telecommuting permitted up to 40% per week.

Full time employment, Monday -- Friday, 40 hours per week. Pay Range: $185,640 - $217,500 per year.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Management Information Systems, or a related field, plus 8 years of related work experience (of which 5 years must be progressive, post-baccalaureate related work experience); or a Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Management Information Systems, or a related field, plus 6 years of related work experience.

Must have 3 years of experience using SQL Platform, Hadoop, YARN, MapReduce, and Spark.

Must have 3 years of experience in debugging troubleshooting and performance tuning.

Must have 2 years of experience in logging and monitoring tools, patterns and implementation, shell scripting and enterprise security, rest/Soap services, and best practices in enterprise deployments.

Must have 2 years of experience in data platform implementation using Azure.

Any suitable combination of education, training or experience is acceptable.
