Grand Central Bakery Culinary Lead - Wallingford in Seattle, Washington
Are you enthusiastic about serving customers? Are you looking for a new challenge in customer service? Grand Central Bakery is looking for a Culinary Lead to create our savory, locally sourced, delicious sandwiches to serve a community of loyal customers!
The Culinary Lead's role is an integral part of the efficient, enthusiastic team that makes Grand Central Bakery’s vibrant cafes such wonderful spaces. The Culinary Lead ensures all team members are trained on proper sandwich making procedures, is responsible for meeting food cost goals, and serves as a conduit for food specific knowledge. They often lead in training and can be the Person in Charge (PIC) for all parts of the day.
The ideal candidate for this role will be customer oriented, and mission focused. They must be a strong team player with good communication, problem-solving skills, organization, and planning.
Location:
Rate of Pay: This position pays $19.22 per hour plus tips.
- Tips average $7.00 - $9.00 per hour.
Schedule: Full-time, est. 5 days a week. Weekends and holidays required along with maintaining schedule flexibility.
Qualifications and Skills:
Must be at least 18 years old
Ability to read, write, and speak English required
Maintains food handler’s card – new hires are expected to have a valid card by their first date of work
Basic math skills required
Must display professionalism and personality with customers

The Culinary Lead is required to stand for 100% of the shift.
The role necessitates working in a loud environment with frequent interruptions.
This position may require lifting and carrying items up to 20 lbs.
This position works in a building containing a bakery and is constantly exposed to wheat flour dust and other grain dusts (rye, corn, oat).
