SSD develops next-generation concepts and systems to advance our future of living and working in space sustainably. SSD Formulation team is multidisciplinary covering power systems, simulation and environments, thermal and fluids management, guidance, navigation, and control (GNC), autonomy, command and control, data handling and instrumentation, electrical integration and avionics, and propulsion. Deploying this team to serve the various projects, studies, and programs in a rapid formulation design environment will be a key responsibility while also contributing technically as an individual contributor sharing your expertise. Our group in Formulation is employing a fast-paced agile process to rapidly address early formulation work through a series of two-week sprints. This position will help lead assignments in this dynamic environment as well as be an active participant themselves. It is important that you bring the appropriate mindset to both personally and have your team be successful by bringing the right culture of bias for action while quickly delivering results. The decisions made early on will set Blue Origin up for long-term success. It also requires a comfort with ambiguity and an ability to find a path forward. We are seeking a talented and creative concept designer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have the ability to synthesize ideas and concepts into cohesive design concepts and to adapt and iterate as more requirements are integrated. As a concept designer, you will be working in a fast-paced, multi-project environment simultaneously and must be capable of working in Rhino3DTM, Enscape3DTM, and other concept tools. Additionally, the ability to translate concepts into the CREOTM CAD tool is required. Responsibilities: Synthesize ideas and concepts into cohesive design concepts Adapt and iterate design concepts as more requirements are integrated Work in a fast-paced, multi-project environment simultaneously Utilize Rhino3DTM, Enscape3DTM, CREOTM and other concept tools for design work Translate concepts into the CREOTM CAD tool Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Graphic Design, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field 4+ years of experience or more in concept design or a similar role Proficient in Rhino3DTM, Enscape3DTM, and other concept tools Strong ability to translate concepts into the CREOTM CAD tool Excellent communication and collaboration skills Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident
