Amazon Business Intelligence Engineering Manager, Worldwide Defect Elimination Concessions Analytics in Seattle, Washington

This team is focused on the customer remediation experience, building technology to identify and personalize the concessions experience for customers.

To continue providing the best resolution options for customers, we seek a passionate, results-oriented, Business Intelligence Engineer (BIE) Manager. The Business Intelligence Engineer Manager will also be responsible for driving analytical strategy for their respective function and enable data driven decision making. Another key aspect of the job is to unearth insights from data to help the operations team in driving process excellence. This position requires exceptional managerial skills, statistical knowledge, superior analytical abilities, knowledge of business intelligence solutions and exposure to efficient data engineering practices. The BIE Manager will also be a stakeholder manager as they will have to work closely with senior tech and non-tech stakeholders/leaders. Candidate should be comfortable with ambiguity, capable of working in a fast-paced environment, continuously improving technical skills to meet business needs, possess attention to detail and be able to collaborate with customers to understand and transform business problems into requirements and deliverables.

Key job responsibilities

  • Design, develop and maintain scaled, automated, user-friendly systems, reports, dashboards, etc.

  • Partner with operations/business teams/economist/machine learning (ML) teams to consult, develop and implement key performance indicators (KPI’s), automated reporting/process solutions and data infrastructure improvements to meet business needs.

  • Develop the end-to-end automation of pipelines for applications and ML models

  • Apply analytic skill to extract meaningful insights and learnings from large and complicated data sets.

  • Serve as liaison with Business and technical teams to achieve project objectives, requiring data gathering, problem solving, modeling, and communication of insights and recommendations.

Basic Qualifications

  • 7+ years of business intelligence and analytics experience

  • 5+ years of delivering results managing a business intelligence or analytics team, including employee development and performance management experience

  • Experience with SQL

  • Experience with ETL

  • Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools

  • Experience with R, Python, Weka, SAS, Matlab or other statistical/machine learning software

Preferred Qualifications

  • 4+ years of working with very large data warehousing environment experience

  • 10+ years of data warehouse technical architectures, data modeling, infrastructure components, ETL/ ELT and reporting/analytic tools and environments, data structures and hands-on SQL coding experience

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,100/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
