Assistant Medical Director, Psychiatrist (On-call/flexible hours) Category Physician Opportunities Job Location Nationwide Tracking Code 134703 Industry Health Care Job Level Mid Career Position Type PRN Years of Experience 2+ to 5 Years Our Medical Affairs team is looking for a remote part-time/flexible Physician Reviewer (Assistant Medical Director) - Psychiatry. This is a part-time position with flexible hours (working 10 to 20 hours per week). This position will support our State of Alaska contract. Paperwork to credential in Alaska will need to be completed once hired. Candidates can reside anywhere within the United States. Who is Comagine Health? Comagine Health is a national, nonprofit, health care consulting firm. We work collaboratively with patients, providers, payers, and other stakeholders to reimagine, redesign and implement sustainable improvements in the health care system. As a trusted, neutral party, we work in our communities to address key, complex health, and health care delivery problems. In all our engagements and initiatives, we draw upon our expertise in quality improvement, care management, health information technology, analytics, and research. We invite our partners and communities to work with us to improve health and redesign the health care delivery system. Our Medical Affairs team, consisting of 30 physicians/dentists and a network of over 35 physician consultants, provides medical review, quality of care oversight, and consultation for various contracts with government and private sector benefit programs. In collaboration with our clients we develop and implement review criteria to insure patients get evidence based care at the right time. In this role, you would: Apply clinical judgment, evidenced-based medicine, and other resources to render timely decisions on clinical peer reviews. Interact with attending physicians regarding potential decertification and related matters. Provide appropriate and timely subject matter expertise and other support to clinical reviewers, case managers, and consultants. Ensure that reviews meet standard for clarity of decision-making and recordkeeping. What we're looking for: Active, current, valid, and unrestricted M.D. or D.O license or certification in a state or territory of the U.S. Board certification by the American Board of Medical Specialties in Psychiatry. Have or ability to obtain an Alaska Medical License. 7 years of clinical experience. Ideal candidates may also have any of the following: Adolescence experience. Board certified in addiction medicine. Addiction experience or substance use work clinically. Teaching skills/training. Competencies: Possess the qualifications, as determined by the National Medical Director or designee, to render clinical opinions about the medical conditions, procedures, and/or treatments under review.
