In this role, you will oversee our accounting operations, lead a team of accountants, and ensure our financial operations run smoothly and efficiently. Responsibilities: Manage and supervise accounting department employees, responsible for day-to-day supervision and leadership. Manage the monthly financial close process, including ensuring all costs incurred are properly recorded, reviewing and/or posting journal entries, account balance reconciliations and report preparation. Participate in the ongoing development/establishment of accounting policies and procedures and operational strategies including the review and implementation of process and system changes. Continued focus on improving system efficiencies and business practices. Lead collaboration with external auditors to ensure successful audit results and compliance. Interacts at all levels and with budget owners or other stakeholders to produce timely, efficient, and accurate month-end close and all internal management and financial reporting through annual report. Analyze the effect of statutory accounting practices and studies regulations and guidance to ensure correct application of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles Prepare detailed journal entries and account analyses. Assist with compilation of information for preparation of tax returns supporting tax team as needed. Actively review and advise on financial/accounting processes. Work with office managers on development of annual budgets. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA or similar certification preferred. Minimum of 15 years of experience in accounting, with at least 7 years in a managerial role. Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Excellent leadership skills with a dedication to the team's development. High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Experience with accounting software system implementation a plus. Working Knowledge of Deltek Vision and Vantagepoint a plus.
