The Boeing Company’s, Customer Support & Fleet Chief Office (multiple models) is currently seeking a Mid-level or Senior Project Engineer to join their team in Seal Beach, CA.

This role will take ownership of resolving a portfolio of complex in-service issues, known as Service Related Problems (SRP). As a member of the BCA Customer Support organization, your mission will be to lead cross organizational teams through timely and first-time quality resolutions of the safety and top economic issues associated with our 777 Fleet. In this role, you will have the opportunity to help resolve systems, structures, and operational issues across the entire airplane as well as interact with customers, suppliers, and expert engineers and leadership throughout BCA.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Provided technical leadership to a team representing multiple skill areas, which may include internal and external resources and customers

  • Develops Statement of Work (SOW) to satisfy research and development, ongoing and new business requirements

  • Builds and actively manages integrated project schedules on multiple projects using project/program management best practices

  • Present to internal and external customers as needed to gain advocacy, authority to proceed, and/or share progress

  • Responds to changes to SOW, assesses the impact and negotiates proposed changes to determine modifications to the deliverables, resources, costs and schedules

  • Identifies and manages to business performance metrics and targets

  • Plans, identifies, and coordinates resources required over the life of the project or program

  • Defines plans for risk/issue mitigation and opportunity capture

  • Compares actual results to baseline plan to assess project performance, efficiencies, productivity and lessons learned

  • Provides technical, business and integration leadership for the development and execution of project or team plans

  • Works independently under general supervision

Basic Qualifications (Required Skill/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry

  • 5+ year(s) experience in leading technical projects and managing technical data content and configuration

  • 5+ year(s) experience leading or managing projects that involved cross-functional or cross-business unit teams

Preferred Skills / Qualifications

  • Project Management Certification (example: PMP)

  • Experience interacting with customers, suppliers and/or regulatory administrators.

Typical Education/Experience

Level 3- Mid-Level

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Level 4- Senior

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Summary pay range Level 3: $104,550 – $141,450

Summary pay range Level 4: $128,350 – $173,650
