DESCRIPTION OF WORK In this position, you will engage in the preparation and cooking of various meats, vegetables, casseroles, soups, and sauces for large-scale food production, catering to both standard and therapeutic diets. You will analyze census and menu data to modify recipes as needed. It is crucial to effectively repurpose leftover food into viable products to minimize waste. Additionally, you will create special menu items for events, meetings, and banquets. Responsibilities include cleaning and sanitizing cooking utensils and equipment, as well as maintaining cleanliness in all food preparation areas. You will operate kitchen appliances such as ovens, fryers, mixers, kettles, skillets, grills, and food processors. Furthermore, you will weigh, measure, package, and label ingredients for recipes, assist in the development and testing of new recipes, prepare food in advance for the following day, and ensure proper utilization of leftover food items.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment, 40 hour work week Work hours are 10:00 AM to 6:30 PM, with 30-minute lunch. Rotating days and weekends, will work 8 hour days Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

Experience in cooking or quantity food preparation; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training. Preferred Qualifications (not required): Completion of education related to foods, nutrition, dietetics, food service, or institutional management Possession of licenses or certifications Experience as a cook in a large volume food preparation operation Paid experience of food service operations experience for geriatric and/or physically ill patients/residents Legal Requirements:
