Job Summary: Interventional Radiologic Technologist

We are looking for a compassionate Interventional Radiologic Technologist to join in our calling to provide exceptional patient care founded on integrity, hope, and a commitment to advocate for every patient who walks through our doors. This position prioritizes patient safety, education, and communication to ensure transparency and peace of mind.  

Under the direction of a Radiologist, this position performs diagnostic/therapeutic procedures, requiring independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative.  

Performs the following: 

  • Reviews patient identification, orders, and history to ensure correct patient, procedure, imaging site, and protocols for radiologist as needed.  

  • Transports patients to and from the exam room and assists them into position using safe patient handling techniques and equipment.  

  • Performs Interventional Radiology (IR) procedures and observes patient during procedure to ensure patient's safety and comfort.  

  • Administers contrast materials as required and initiate emergency response to contrast reaction as needed.  

  • Obtains and evaluates images for technical quality assurance factors including image laterality marking and annotation as required by IR procedure protocols.  

  • Utilizes RIS, PACS and other, ancillary image management systems as needed. 

  • Assists in coordination of daily workflow for the department’s activities 

  • Maintains equipment in efficient operating order including documenting quality control and contacting for service repairs or maintenance as needed 

Education: 

  • Graduate from an interventional radiology technologist education program accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT). 

  • Bachelor’s Degree, at least two years of experience in radiology and registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (AART). 

  • MUST possess Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) that is approved by the American Heart Association and reads BLS Healthcare Provider Course in the subjects listed 

  • MUST possess a Certificate of Vascular-Interventional Radiology (VIR) or Cardiovascular Interventional Radiology (CVIR). 

Licenses and Certifications: 

  • Valid and current AZ State Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT) license Required 

  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Valid and current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Required 

  • Proof of current Basic Life Support (BLS) must be provided prior to start date
