RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Successfully complete the Comfort Keepers new-hire orientation program and pre-assignment training
  • Accept responsibility for continuous learning and adherence to Comfort Keepers policies and procedures
  • Function competently in the home setting with minimal direct supervision
  • Follow spoken and written instructions and documents services provided, as required
  • Demonstrate genuine concern for helping people and high moral standards of honesty and integrity
  • Perform duties as assigned on the client\'s Plan of Care
  • Help clients with activities of daily living by providing any of the Comfort Keepers approved personal care activities, including, but not limited to, bathing, transferring (Hoyer Lift), dressing, toileting, grooming, oral hygiene, and/or ambulation
  • Provide for a clean, safe, and healthy environment for clients by completing light housekeeping tasks including laundering the clients garments and linens and changing the bed
  • Help client meet nutritional needs by planning and preparing meals, grocery shopping, and cleaning dishes and kitchen
  • Help the client with ambulation/transfers as specified in the Plan of Care
  • Remind the client to take self-administered medications
  • Observe and report any changes in the clients mental, physical, or emotional condition or home situation to the immediate supervisor
  • Establish and maintain effective communication and a professional relationship with clients, family members, Comfort Keepers staff, and co-workers
  • Participate in in-service and continuing education programs, staff meetings, and client conferences as requested by the immediate supervisor
  • Complete required documentation/electronic recording of services delivered and submits to office in a timely manner according to policy (i.e. money handling receipts, mileage, tasks, clocking in and out, etc.)
  • Use equipment and supplies safely and properly, which includes using proper body mechanics
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding client information
  • Perform other duties as assigned
