As a sub-contractor to HX5 on the Air National Guard System Support Representative (ANG SSR) contract, Jacobs provides support for mission planning systems to Air National Guard units throughout the United States. This includes maintaining the integrity of weapons' system certified Mission Planning Environment software, configuration management, and technical support/troubleshooting.

Jacobs is seeking a full-time System Support Representative (Assault Zone). The successful candidate will provide technical support, assistance, and maintain the Zone Availability Report (ZAR) for HQ AMC/A3D. Additionally, the candidate will provide systems administration to Mission Planning hardware and software on systems utilizing the Portable Flight Planning Software (PFPS) and/or Joint Mission Planning Software (JMPS). Under certain circumstances, the employee may attend conferences/symposiums where the airdrop community is a major participant and present briefings on ZAR related issues.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • The employee is responsible for providing the AMC Assault Zone database and mobility configuration instructions for the Mobility Air Force. Primary POC for all issues related to the Drop Zone and Landing Zone validation process.

  • The employee is responsible for supporting all assigned organizations which require PFPS in order to support the war fighter. Organizations include but are not limited to the 618 Tanker Airlift Control Center (TACC), US Transportation Command (USTRANSCOM), the 375 Air Mobility Wing (AMW), and HQ AMC/A3D

  • Understanding of Airdrop, Drop Zones, and Landing Zones is required, crew experience is highly desired.

  • Must be able to accomplish basic file download, manipulation, installation, and operation.

  • Understanding of airspace, airports, airways, and navigation aids.

  • Understanding of and ability to analyze/troubleshoot hardware, software, and Windows operating systems.

  • Understanding of mission planning system functions and external interfaces to include setup and teardown procedures.

Qualifications

BS degree in a computer or system science discipline from an accredited college or university and four (4) years of progressive, relevant experience, or any equivalent combination of education, experience, training and certifications.

* Knowledge, skills & abilities required/desired * :

  • Must have a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or other related discipline; or

  • Technical School Certificate related to aviation, computer systems, or relevant experience.

  • Familiarization on capability and use of Air Force Airdrop mission planning software such as PFPS is desired.

  • Knowledge and proficiency to update and maintain Air Force SharePoint websites is desired.

  • Aviation/Airdrop experience is highly desired

  • 4 years relevant work experience required

  • Must pass drug testing

  • U.S. CITIZENSHIP REQUIRED. Must be able to attain and maintain a Secret government clearance

  • Required travel with notice or on short notice

Training & Certifications:

  • Must obtain a CompTIA Security within 6 months of hire

Essential Functions

Physical Requirements:

Light- Work usually requires standing or walking to a significant degree. Exerts up to 20 lbs. of force occasionally or up to 10 lbs. of force frequently to move objects. Must be medically and psychologically fit for deployment as defined in DoDI3020.41, Enclosure 3.

Work Environment:

Must maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner to get along with customers, clients, co-workers and management.

Must be able to work independently and with minimal supervision.

Equipment and Machines:

Standard office equipment and machines, computer workstation.

Attendance:

With the exception of STD/LTD/FMLA & approved time off, attendance is considered essential.

Must be able to work within the shift hours of 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.

May be required to work outside of normal shift hours when required for mission support.

Travel:

May be required to travel locally on a regular basis. Must be willing to deploy under peacetime and armed hostility conditions to support assigned units in a theater of operations of the U.S. Armed Forces deployed outside of the United States.

Other Essential Functions:

Must be able to secure and maintain a security clearance.

Must pass drug testing.

Must be able to read and write effectively in English.
