SAIC IT Enterprise Data Analyst in SCOTT AFB, Illinois

Description

The National Security Customer Group of SAIC is seeking Data Scientist to support the IT Service Delivery effort for USTRANSCOM (USTC) located at Scott Air Force Base (AFB) in Illinois, approximately 20 Miles from St. Louis, MO. The USTC Managed Information Technology Services (MITS) contract is intended to provide strategic, technical, and program management guidance and support services to facilitate the operations and modernization of the combatant command’s infrastructure, systems, and applications. This support will be provided to the USTC Command, Subordinate Commands, and other supporting organization as directed on behalf of the Command Control, Communications & Cyber Systems Directorate (TCJ6).

As an Enterprise data analyst you will drive the process of accumulating, analyzing and processing huge data sets to derive insights while making smarter business decisions. It employs different techniques, including data mining, predictive analytics, correlations, data discovery, visualization and more. Enterprise analytics discover potholes in the customer journey, identify emerging trends in the IT Service Delivery industry or user experience processes. As an Enterprise data analyst you will help the organization convert complex information into actionable insights and take proactive actions to achieve objectives.

Responsibilities

· Responsible for supporting technique development efforts for applications within the federal government.

· The ideal candidate is adept at using big data sets and applying machine learning and artificial intelligence techniques for analysis and prediction tools focused on environmental and meteorological applications.

· Needs to have strong experience using a variety of data mining/data analysis methods, the use of a variety of data tools, constructing and imposing models, using/creating algorithms and creating/running simulations.

· The right candidate will have a passion for discovering solutions hidden in large data sets and working with stakeholders to improve enterprise outcomes.

· Work with large, complex datasets and remedy difficult, non-routine analysis problems, applying advanced analytical methods as needed.

· Conduct end-to-end analysis that consists of data gathering and requirements specification, processing, analysis, ongoing deliverables, and presentations.

· Build and prototype analysis pipelines iteratively to provide insights at scale.

· Make recommendations such as cost-benefit, forecasting, and experiment analysis with effective presentations of findings at multiple levels of stakeholders through visual displays of quantitative information.

· Research and develop analysis, forecasting and optimization methods to improve the quality of operational data processing systems.

· Interact cross-functionally with teams, and work closely with them to identify opportunities for design and to examine improvements for SAIC engaged solutions.

· Apply data science concepts to build predictive analytics tools using cutting edged techniques to exploit big data

· Experience with statistical software such as R, Python, MATLAB, pandas and database languages such as SQL

· Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS or Google Cloud Platform

· Develops and manages information to support enterprise decision making.

· Manages and improves existing reporting systems.

· Conducts and facilitates (and educates and trains on) analyses, issues identification, organizational risk assessment, and decision-making processes.

· Provides consulting and analytic services to leadership.

· Provides technical support and mentoring and training to less-senior analysts.

· Develops methodology and processes for prioritization and scheduling of projects.

· Analyzes problems and determines root causes.

· Defines company data assets (data models), spark, sparkSQL, and hiveSQL jobs to populate data models.

· Works closely with all Directorate Branches and engineering teams to develop strategy for long term data platform architecture.

This position is for Monday through Friday, normal business hours.

Qualifications

· DoD Secret clearance

· BA/BS in business administration, economics, computer science, management information systems, or related field or equivalent related experience

  • 5+ years data analyst or related experience, including proficiency with analytical software or equivalent related education.

· ITIL® 4 Foundations

· Proficiency in statistics, data analysis, and research methods

· Demonstrated knowledge of and skill in adaptability, decision making, customer service, interpersonal relations, oral communication, problem solving, project management, quality management, teamwork, written communication, group presentations, group process facilitation, influence, results orientation, strategic thinking, and team building

· Demonstrated knowledge of and skill in word processing, spreadsheet, and database PC applications

· Ability to become familiar with basic project management approaches, tools and phases of the project lifecycle.

· Prior experience working on customer site.
