Position : FILLER OPERATOR - LINE 1 - MID SHIFT

General Purpose:

Operates Pneumatic Scale Filler, Silgan Capper, Video Jet Coder and performs all related functions.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Adjusts Filling machine with proper fill weight for product.

  • Reports quality and operational issues to management as they occur and submits work orders.

  • Checks accuracy of container coding for product being filled.

  • Completes all required paperwork accurately and legibly.

  • Monitors chart recorders and makes adjustments when necessary.

  • Performs metal detector verification tests.

  • Ensures fill detection equipment is functioning prior to startup and tests regularly during a production run.

  • Assists Check Weight Operator to supply capper.

  • Isolates product that deviates from standards and reports to management.

  • Monitors Rinser temperature, spray pattern, and clears jams.

  • Follows filed operating process at all times.

  • Utilize scanners or thin client units to make SAP transaction for the purpose of maintain accurate inventory levels and ensuring reliable product traceability.

  • Obtains all necessary samples of product in a timely manner.

  • Performs CIP/COP sanitizing utilizing procedures and methods.

  • Handles cleaning chemicals in a safe manner utilizing safety equipment such as gloves, eyewear, etc.

  • Examines final package for any defects, i.e. glass, cap, code, etc.

  • Follows all DFA Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and work in a manner consistent with all corporate, regulatory quality, and sanitation requirements.

  • Performs items on Master Sanitation lists when production is not running.

  • Maintain sanitary equipment conditions during production.

  • Maintain safe environment and perform other duties in a safe manner at all times.

  • Ability to function in a team based structure and positively contributes to team based efforts.

  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

  • Ability to pass pre-employment physical and drug screen.

Shift Schedule - Monday - Friday 12:30PM - 8:30PM

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)

  • Effectively Communicate - Speech / Writing

  • Basic computer skills

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.

  • Ability to compute rate, ratio and percentage.

  • Perform necessary routine cleaning and preventive maintenance

  • Knowledge with machines, tools, equipment and Lock Out/Tag Out.
