Your opportunity: The Manufacturing Engineer II optimizes factory costs, quality, and customer service through the conception, development, and implementation of new or improved manufacturing processes, equipment, tooling, material flow, plant layout, or product design. Investigate, purchase, and implement tooling and equipment to support daily operations. Provide technical support and troubleshooting for manufacturing processes and equipment. Recognize, recommend and validate design and process changes to improve manufacturability. Implement changes with product design engineering. Identify and implement improvements to material utilization, department layout and machinery efficiency. Analyze and make recommendations using summarized data to influence key management decisions relating to budgeting, staffing, and capacity planning. Lead and support safety, 5S, and Lean initiatives. Expected to complete internal Lean Leader certification. Will provide mentoring, training, indirect supervision of other team members, or may have direct reports. Manage moderately complex team projects involving individuals from various departments to ensure integration between manufacturing, sales, finance, marketing and product engineering. Support production and manufacturing to optimize quality, productivity, on-time delivery, and operational efficiencies resulting in improved customer satisfaction. Process Optimization: Evaluate equipment, tooling, and machinery used in the stamping operation to ensure they are properly maintained and functioning optimally.
