Ellis Medicine Telemetry Monitor Technician - Critical Care (Weekends) in Schenectady, New York

Salary Range: $15.61-$20.46/hour

The Monitor Technician is responsible for the direct continuous visualization of the rhythm surveillance monitoring system for patients with a compromised cardiac condition. In addition, the monitor technician is responsible for the documentation and communication of surveillance activities. Weekends only: every Saturday and Sunday

RESPONSIBILITIES OF POSITION:

  • Provide direct, continuous visualization of cardiac rhythms on the monitoring system.

  • Communicate all rate and rhythms to the RN accurately and timely to assure prompt response.

  • Maintain documentation reflecting the rhythm history of each patient.

  • Maintain current knowledge and competency in cardiac monitoring and other areas related to the position.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

    Education: High school graduate or equivalent thereof.

    Experience: Previous experience with nursing unit operations and medical terminology is also required. Previous experience as an EKG Technician, Monitor Technician or direct patient caregiver is preferred. The candidate will be required to successfully complete a critical care program for rhythm detection. This includes how to interface with the central station monitor and arrhythmia detection system.

    Salary Range: $15.61-$20.46/hour Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
