GE Vernova Electrical Cabling and Interconnection Engineer in Schenectady, New York

Job Description Summary

The Electrical Cabling and Interconnection Engineer leads projects and initiatives with large scope and high impact to the business or is a growing expert in a specialized field. As a member of the Generator & Electrical Systems team, this role will be responsible for design and support the electrical engineering community as an expert, as well a performing firsthand engineering on projects focusing on all Interconnection and cabling detailed design.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for leading and executing interconnections, cabling for all electrical power cabling, I/C cabling, network cabling for Gas Turbine, Steam Turbine and Power Plant projects.

  • Responsible and take ownership of On Time Delivery (OTD) and ensure fulfilment of design and quality of the scope of supply.

  • Lead technical issue resolution to internal and external customers.

  • Review the team members internal deliverables, external deliverables.

  • Verify the concept, calculation, and sizing of engineering parameters.

  • Support on engineering guidelines/desgin criteria/specification to reflect with applicable rules, regulations codes and standards and according to good engineering practices.

  • Coordinate with cross functional Engineering teams to execute project deliverables.

  • Review and support technical issues, site issues, commissioning, root cause analysis for engineering related issues.

  • Willingness to learn and adopt the changes, in growing GEV engineering environments.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college OR a high school diploma/ GED with 9 years of relevant professional experience.

  • Minimum of 5 years of engineering experience.

  • Strong knowledge of NEC, NEMA/ICEA, IEEE standards.

Desired Characteristics :

  • Strong knowledge and proven experience of interconnections, equipment interfaces, cabling of power plant auxiliary equipment and design of electrical accessories.

  • Highly self- motivated and able to make quick technical decisions with limited data

  • Knowledge of MS office applications with proficiency in MS Excel, MS Access, MS Word, MS Power Point.

  • Strong work ethics, takes ownership and accountability of work output.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

  • Ability to work in a matrix environment with demonstrated ability to establish and maintain working relationship with cross functional teams, external teams global team members.

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks effectively and strong problem solving skills.

For U.S. based candidates only, for purposes of complying with U.S. pay transparency requirements, the base pay range for this position is $98,400.00 - 164,000.00 USD Annual.

The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for a 10% performance bonus.

*The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas.
