American Tower Sales Account Manager (DAS) in Schaumburg, Illinois

The Team

We are seeking a Sales Account Manager to join American Tower’s Sales organization. The DAS Sales team builds relationships with the our Mobile Network Operator (MNO) customers to generate new collocations and in-building network installations. Day to day you will focus on prospecting, business development, and leasing of equipment to support the Managed Networks department’s products, including in-building and outdoor distributed antenna system (“DAS”) products, to named wireless carrier accounts in an assigned geographic area. You will develop and manage business relationships, research potential sales opportunities for all DAS products and services, identify new customers through research, network and cold call.

What You Need to Succeed

  • Bachelor’s degree required.

  • At least 5 years’ sales and/or business development experience required.

  • At least 3 years’ wireless, telecommunications, or real estate industry experience strongly preferred.

  • Approximately 50% travel may be required in support of the position’s responsibilities.

  • Excellent ability to create new, and maintain existing, account relationships.

  • Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to present ideas and suggestions clearly and effectively.

  • Ability to work with different functional groups and levels of employees to effectively and professionally achieve results.

  • Strong organizational skills; ability to accomplish multiple tasks within the agreed upon timeframes through effective prioritization of duties and functions in a fast-paced environment.

  • Lead proactive sales efforts for all DAS, in-building opportunities.

  • Identify new business opportunities with named wireless carriers, venue owners, consultants, and other new prospects through research, calls, meetings, and presentations.

  • Present creative solutions that capture greater market share while solving customer challenges.

  • Lead marketing efforts of DAS properties across assigned region while working with the DAS Real Estate team to position existing venues with our customers and identify key real estate assets to pursue.

  • Forecast and maintain all lease-up opportunities in SalesForce.com.

  • Represent the Company at applicable forums and/or conferences focused within the region and engage with industry-related associations to advance in-building initiatives.

  • Broaden established customer relationships and develop new relationships with key stakeholders and decision makers to increase your account knowledge and influence.

  • Champion customer issues, challenges, and opportunities internally while providing excellent customer service.
