DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES: Job Summary: The student supporting DT will provide assistance to the DT production operation and will additionally support DT engineering activities. Experience will be gained from supporting the manufacture and metrology of optics using nanometer precision machine tools.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities * Update/Create work instructions * Develop molds and process for DT thermoformed vacuum trays for internal part transportation * Assist with development and execution of incoming QA requirements for parts from vendors * Assist with data collection and development in the production environment * Assist with diamond tool tracking and organization within department * Work on assigned first time yield improvements and R&D projects * Assist engineering staff with daily projects and duties * Learn diamond turning machine operation and provide support where necessary * Support department 5S initiatives

Education & Experience * Minimum 1 year of college completed towards and engineering or equivalent degree.

Skills * Self-motivated * Strong work ethic * Strong communication skills, both written and verbal * Planning and organizing * Problem solving * Teamwork * Detail orientated

Working Conditions * Office and clean room environment within manufacturing facility * Must be able to work with acids, radioactive materials and other toxic chemicals

Physical Requirements * Standing for extended periods of time, lifting 15 lbs.

Safety Requirements All employees are required to follow the site EHS procedures and II-VI Corporate EHS standards.
