Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or technology related field preferred. 10 years experience in developing enterprise and/or solution architectures. Experience managing medium to large cross-functional teams or projects.

The enterprise architect proactively leads architectural activities that strategically guide business and technology operating models, people, processes, and technology. He/she acts to align technology and business strategies to allow the business to become more agile, resilient, and future capable.

Job Description

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential Functions:

  • Formulates, advocates, and supports business strategy to achieve business and IT alignment through a consultative manner, driving the organization’s digital business strategies and while balancing innovation and growth. .

  • Understand and communicate business and solution requirements of current and future technology needs, working with stakeholders to develop an approach that fits the needs of the enterprise.

  • Provides analysis of business and operating models, market trends, and the technology industry to determine potential impact on the enterprise’s business strategy and architecture.

  • Develops robust enterprise architectures through the use of industry standard methodologies and models.

  • Facilitates business and technology agreement on architectural models and processes to meet business and technology requirements.

  • Collaborates with infrastructure and project teams to ensure continuous delivery of business outcomes, as well as to identify when it is necessary to evolve the architecture.

  • Serve on architecture governance boards, acting in an architectural leadership role facilitating alignment between business expectations and technology solutions.

  • Evaluate new tools, products, frameworks, and technologies, and establish processes to achieve consistent results.

  • Tracks and applies innovative technologies, establishing them in the business and operating model to assess their potential, and uses agile and lean approaches to evolve and manage innovation.

  • Comfortable, experienced, and accomplished at working with business executives, and able to push back in a professional and diplomatic way.

  • Trusted and respected as a thought leader who can influence and persuade business and IT leaders.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Other Requirements:

  • Demonstrates enterprise thinking and influence across functional boundaries.

  • Exceptional soft and interpersonal skills, including teamwork, facilitation and negotiation.

  • Architectural expertise in the following areas; (a) Storage, Virtualization, Server, End-User Compute, Networking, and Security; (b) understanding of data-center technology and private and public cloud industry trends.

  • Experience with IBM Technologies, Microsoft, SAP, Cisco, EMC, Netapp, VMWare, Open stack products a plus.

  • Business functional experience.
