Position Title: Model-Based System Engineer (MBSE)

Position Summary:

  • Serve as the organization’s expert and lead Systems Engineer for all MBSE-related activities

  • Extensively collaborate with prime and support contractors, developmental test engineers, program management office personnel, etc., on a daily basis to ensure digital models of systems under tests reflect to most current digital representation of the system being developed/tested

  • Perform technical planning, requirements analysis, network design, and other associated systems-engineering activities to ensure digital representations of systems under test are comprehensively and qualitatively replicated within the digital integrated development framework

  • Apply MBSE skills to comprehensively integrate programmatic documentation (i.e. requirements documents, test plans, concepts of operations, data-analysis plans, formal reports) into applicable modeling environments

  • Periodically brief/educate acquisition professionals, developmental/operational test engineers, customers and senior-leadership on the progress of MBSE activities under the organization’s purview

  • Travel to contractors’ facilities, test sites and other locations to collaborate with various working groups and/or other program participating organizations on program MBSE-related activities

  • Produce comprehensive documentation of designs implemented within the developmental environment (i.e. maintain well-documented code)

  • ​ Support any additional developmental test activities as assigned by organizational leadership (may involve system testing while aboard government testbed aircraft)

    Required Qualifications:

  • Active Secret Security Clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret/SCI Clearance

  • 8 + years of related experience

  • Master of Science in Systems Engineering (additional experience may be substituted for a Master's degree)

  • Strong background in the application of systems-engineering principles, MBSE, SysML and/or other relatable MBSE tools used to digitally model complex, interrelated systems

  • Experience developing, interpreting, analyzing, and employing digital models coded using SysML (or Unified Modeling Language (UML)), preferably using

Cameo Systems Modeler

  • Demonstrable knowledge and experience applying systems engineering concepts in support of DOD programs

  • Demonstrated ability to perform as a member of diverse, cross-functional team as well as independently

  • Demonstrated superior interpersonal skills and ability to effectively express complex, technical concepts, either verbally or in writing, to integrated team members with varying technical backgrounds

  • Possess (or be able to acquire) OCSMP - Model Builder Intermediate certification

  • Willingness to obtain FAA Class III Flight Physical for potential in-flight developmental testing as required

    Desired Qualifications & Certifications:

  • Object Modeler Group (OMG)

  • Certified Systems Modeling Language (SysML) Professional (OCSMP)

  • Model Builder (Fundamental, Intermediate, or Advanced)
