South Central WY Ambulance EMT-B (Emergency Medical Technician- Basic) in Saratoga, Wyoming

  • Respond to calls for service, assess scenes and patients, and provide pre-hospital care based on licensure level in accordance with local protocols.
  • Operate standard equipment such as stretchers, patient care monitors, diagnostic equipment, radios, pagers, computers, office equipment.
  • Operate EMS vehicles under normal and emergency situations in various (sometimes extreme) weather conditions and in remote territories.
  • Preform monthly vehicle and supply checks and assures vehicles are adequately stocked, cleaned and in proper working order.
  • Often responsible for physically demanding tasks including but not limited to: lifting, carrying and moving patients, hiking, climbing and carrying heavy equipment, extrication of persons from vehicles, bending, and performing CPR for extended periods of time.
  • Attends meetings, conferences, workshops, and training sessions and reviews publications and audio-visual materials to become and remain current on principles, practices, and new developments in assigned work areas.
  • Often required to perform on-call / standby hours after normal in-house shifts.
  • Completes patient care reports in a timely fashion in accordance with agency policy
