Espey Mfg. & Electronics Corp. Transformer Design Engineer II-III in Saratoga Springs, New York

The Transformer Design Engineer is responsible for the design of new transformers from conception to full scale production. Develop estimates based on customer Statements of Work (SOW) and performance specifications. Work directly with production, program management office, quality, and other departments as technical advisor to maintain product flow and positive customer relations. Project development cycles range from a few weeks to over a year depending on the product type and scope of project. Team member’s roles are defined uniquely for each project, with experienced engineers sometimes assuming role of Project Lead based on engineer’s interests and capabilities. Bachelor of Science in Engineering, preferably with at least 5 years of experience in transformer and magnetic devices is required. Experience in ruggedized products for Military applications is a plus. Experience in designs with BIL requirements up to 15kV class and knowledge of dry type transformers up to 5MVA, preferred. Knowledge of ANSI/IEEE standards and experience with military standards such as MIL-E-917 is also preferred.Must be US CitizenSalary range is $68,000-$126,000 *An Equal Opportunity Employer.
