D.A. Collins Companies Precast Concrete Estimator - Saratoga Springs, NY in Saratoga Springs, New York

The D.A. Collins Family of Companies has brought safety, quality, and productivity to industrial, infrastructure, highway, and bridge construction for over 70 years. As a member of the D.A. Collins Companies, Pallette Stone Corporation is seeking a Precast Concrete Estimator at our Saratoga Springs, NY facility.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Review plans and recognize potential precast bid opportunities

  • Prepare accurate quotations and shop drawings based on project specific plans and specifications

  • Utilize inventory / invoicing software to ensure accurate and timely billing

  • Gain full understanding of NYSDOT and National Precast Concrete Association (NPCA) standards for precast concrete

  • Gain full understanding of precast Quality Control/Quality Assurance (QC/QA) program

Essential Functions

  • Ability to work at a computer for extended periods

  • Ability to work outside of scheduled hours to meet demands of position

Required Qualifications:

  • Basic knowledge of concrete and various aspects of construction

  • Strong mathematics skills with the ability to calculate, analyze data and compute rates, ratios and percentages

  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work

  • Strong ability to plan, organize and work independently to meet expected deadlines

  • Strong ability to read and understand project plans and specifications

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently

  • Proficiency in MS Word, Outlook, Excel

  • Must have a valid driver’s license or reliable transportation to report to work on timewith record acceptable to the company's insurers

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with telephone-based customer service

  • Experience with Excel spread sheets

  • Experience in construction estimating/sales

Compensation:

Competitive wage commensurate with experience. Excellent benefit package including company paid health, dental and vision insurance with a company-funded retirement plan.

Base salary range:

Precast Concrete Estimator

$30,400-$78,750

Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as related work experience, market conditions, education/training, certifications and other credentials, overtime when applicable, as well as applicable knowledge and skills.
