Job Description

Position Title: Quality Engineering Technician

Primary Function:

Responsible to the MRO Quality Manager for ensuring the Repair Station Quality System in the area of focus is effectively established, deployed, maintained, and continually improved. Executes the Quality Management System strategy of the organization to ensure the continuous production of articles in the area of focus are consistent with established industry standards, government regulations and customer requirements. Work closely with Operations Management to drive and maintain World-Class Maintenance Repair Overhaul operations and quality outcomes in the area of focus.

Essential Functions:

• Manage Material Review Board activities to control nonconforming material, direct containment activities, provide timely material dispositions and determine root cause as well as implementation of corrective actions

• Develop, implement and audit of inspection and test plans, standards and acceptance criteria, and procedures / work instructions.

• Investigate customer complaints via the warranty return process (applicable to internal customer only)

• Maintain access to customer portal for retrieval customer specific documentation

• Perform inspections as required by customer Delegated Signature Authority

• Conduct periodic Component Maintenance Manual verifications per CFR 14 Part 145

• Review changes to technical documentation and assist MRO Engineering in assessing the impact to MRO capabilities.

• Provide Quality interface and expertise to proactively assure that the needs and expectations of the production floor with respect to customer, regulatory and statutory requirements are understood and satisfied. This includes but not limited to the nonconformance management and the implementation of the corresponding corrective / preventive actions

• Provide support to the team relative to the collection and analysis of Quality Management System data. This includes the preparation of reports of quality performance and improvement plans

• Create corrective actions, conduct root cause analysis, and manage follow-up corrective action as they relate to the improvement of the production line

• Regular, predictable attendance is required

• Team members must be willing to work overtime as business requires

• Execute the initiatives of the organization in the development, implementation and improvement of the appropriate Quality Systems throughout the operation, with all the documentation required

• Maintain measurement equipment and perform Measurement System Analyses to assess and act upon measurement system accuracy and precision (repeatability and reproducibility)

• Ensures commitment to a safe working environment and the HSE standards and processes established by corporate

• Perform other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

Basic Qualifications:

• Associate's Degree in Engineering, technical or other related discipline from an accredited institution

• One year minimum of manufacturing or quality experience with a working knowledge of blueprint reading, statistical methods, problem solving, international quality standards, and continuous improvement tools

• Knowledge of electrical, mechanical and electronic devices and their functional characteristics to aid in effective prevention, detection, disposition and root cause analysis

• Basic understanding of 14 CFR Part 43, 65, 145 and 125 and basic understanding of C.A.SE. requirements.

• Analytical Problem Solving – Understands problem solving methods – i.e. 8D, root cause analysis, Apollo etc. – and the associated statistical tools used to analyze problems

• Quality Management Systems – Understanding of the standards, implementation and certification process of Quality Management Systems such as AS/EN9100, ISO-9001, or any other industry-specific standard or regulation.

• Leadership – Experience leading projects with demonstrated success. Ability to conceive, produce and deliver significant presentations to external customers and management

• Ability to Read, Write and understand English.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Training: Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, Quality Management System standards (i.e., ISO 9000, AS9100)

• Recently graduated from BS Mechanical, Electrical or Electronics

• A&P or ability to attain Repairman Certificate

Physical Demands:

Sitting 50% / 40% Standing / 10% Walking & lifting

Work Environment:

Equal split between office work and working on the shop floor with production technicians/engineers.
