Amazon Transportation Manager in Sao Paulo, Brazil

Description

This is a full-time, permanent, hybrid position based in Sao Paulo, Brazil and does not offer relocation benefits. Job applicants must be located and legally authorized to work in Sao Paulo, Brazil in order to be eligible for consideration.

Amazon seeks a Transportation Manager for Brazil Network Operations Center team. This role will be the regional POC on operational and tactical tasks to support NOC local implementation and business growth, policy creation, playbooks and process improvement. This role will play the identification of NOC WW best practices and streamline programs from other GEOs bringing it to Brazil. Employee will also work to deliver most relevant KPIs linked to ATS Middle Mile, Last Mile and will create, implement and improve KPIs and logistic projects as identified from the Central NOC strategic plans.

The successful candidate will possess an ability to collaborate and influence across several levels, stakeholders in central teams to (1) identify and prioritize critical business needs and implementation pain points, (2) analyze input data, and stakeholders feedback, (3) develop scalable policy and network wide standard practice solutions. This is a new role and will require an ability to communicate effectively, develop mechanisms and embrace change that ill inevitable occur with each initiative and create a path where there is none .

The candidate will also be managing people (6-8) reporting into them directly.

Key job responsibilities

A Transportation Manager provides timely resolution to the issue in hand by researching and querying internal tools and by taking real-time decisions. An ideal candidate should be able to understand the requirements/be able to analyze data and notice trends and be able to drive Customer Experience without compromising on time. The candidate should have the advanced understanding of Logistics and should be able to communicate clearly in the written and verbal form. Trans Manager should be able to conduct process improvements and should have the zeal to drive them to conclusion.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Communication with external customers (Carriers, Vendors/Suppliers) and internal customers (Retail, Finance, Software Support, Fulfillment Centers)

  • Ability to pull data from numerous databases (using Excel, Access, SQL and/or other data management systems) and to perform ad hoc reporting and analysis as needed is a plus.

  • Develop and/or understand performance metrics to assist with driving business results.

  • Ability to scope out business and functional requirements for the Amazon technology teams who create and enhance the software systems and tools are used by NOC.

  • Must be able to quickly understand the business impact of the trends and make decisions that make sense based on available data.

  • Must be able to systematically escalate problems or variance in the information and data to the relevant owners and teams and follow through on the resolutions to ensure they are delivered.

  • Work within various time constraints to meet critical business needs, while measuring and identifying activities performed.

  • Excellent communication, both verbal and written as one may be required to create a narrative outlining weekly findings and the variances to goals, and present these finding in a review forum.

A day in the life

In this position, you are required to think big as well as execute at a tactical level to drive improvements in our NOC processes across multiple lines of businesses and geographies. You are also expected to work collaboratively with the Brazilian Team. Transformation team by aligning priorities and strategy to develop a successful integrated implementation. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated track record of:

  • Deep understanding of systems. Understand priorities and streamlining processes throughout organization. Deliver and drive value for them.

  • Innovation. Appreciate what exists, identify why it works. Then iterate on it or build something totally different that derives even MORE value and a better business/stakeholder experience.

  • Judgment. Be able to support your opinions with sound reasoning grounded in the business.

  • Process Improvement. Utilize the right metrics to measure policy quality.

  • Prioritization. There will be a constant flow of work, both operational, tactical and strategic. Determine what gets done first and why, while managing a plan for what to do with everything else.

  • Building relationships. Share best practices, partner on solutions, test existing mechanisms and continue to improve.

  • Communicate. Share your ideas, listen to others, deliver on commitments, follow-up, and follow-up again and escalate when you have hit a road block to drive solutions to get back to green.

Basic Qualifications

  • Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays

  • University Bachelor's degree completed.

  • Work experience in Customer Service, Operations, Logistics, Supply Chain and/or Manufacturing roles.

  • Work experience as team manager, lead, supervisor of 10-15 individuals.

  • Work experience in performance, project, customer and stakeholder management.

  • Advanced English proficiency

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with SQL.

  • Six Sigma and/or PMP certified.
