What You Will Do

Exciting opportunity for a results-driven LATAM Air & Ocean Category Lead in Ocean and Inland Freight Procurement for Consumer Goods, where you'll champion cost reduction and build trust with senior leaders. Your mission: to streamline our freight services, leveraging your strategic prowess to foster external and internal alliances, and drive our procurement success. The LATAM Air & Ocean Category Lead in Ocean and Inland Freight scope of responsibilities includes:

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute procurement strategies for ocean and inland freight services that deliver significant cost reductions and align with business goals.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with senior operational managers, gaining their trust through consistent delivery of results and transparent communication.

  • Implement strategic sourcing and contract management practices to achieve cost savings and enhance supplier relationships.

  • Analyze market trends and logistics data to make informed decisions that drive cost efficiency.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, ensuring alignment of logistics strategies with the company's broader objectives and earning stakeholder trust through collaboration and results.

  • Facilitate process improvements and innovative procurement solutions, contributing to operational efficiency and cost reduction.

  • Engage in continuous learning and development to stay ahead in the field, demonstrating commitment to professional growth and the company's success.

Qualifications

What We Are Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field, with a preference for additional certifications in agile methodologies.

  • Preferred, Full APICS certification (CPIM, CSCP, or CLTD) with a demonstrated understanding of its application in procurement and supply chain management.

  • 2-4 years of experience in procurement, specifically in ocean and inland freight logistics, with a proven track record of achieving cost reductions.

  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to use data to inform procurement strategies and decisions.

  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, capable of establishing trust with senior operational managers.

  • Proficiency in procurement software and data analytics tools, with the ability to leverage technology for efficient procurement processes.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Direct experience in the consumer goods industry, particularly in logistics or transportation roles.

  • Familiarity with systems like Tableau, Scout, Ariba, SAP.

  • Proven track record of strategic sourcing, supplier management, and successful negotiation leading to cost savings.

  • An innovative and collaborative approach to procurement, underpinned by a commitment to APICS principles and continuous professional development.
