Amazon Student Programs Latin America (LATAM) will host #SheCanCode: Software Development Engineer (SDE) Learning Virtual Event through Brazen on Wednesday, April 10th 2024 at 3:00pm Mexico/Costa Rica time (6:00pm Sao Paulo time) for our open roles within the Software Development industry in these locations:
Guadalajara, México.
Ciudad de México, México.
San José, Costa Rica.
São Paulo, Brazil.
Amazon Student Programs Latin America (LATAM) is currently hiring several openings as:
Reduced-time, temporary internships as Software Development Engineer (SDE Intern).
Full-time, permanent positions as Software Development Engineer (SDE I).
*Selected candidate(s) will be required to work in a hybrid model: two (2) days from home and three (3) days from the Amazon's corporate office respective to each city. Virtual/remote positions are not available.
INTERNSHIP: designed exclusively for currently enrolled students at a university bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, who anticipate to complete their studies in the next 24 months from time of application; looking to combine their studies with a paid-internship.
Hiring Process: Application > CV Review > Technical Coding Online Assessment (OA) > Two (2) Final Interviews.
In-country relocation support is not available.
Subject to your location, interviews will be held in Spanish or Portuguese, and English (intermediate English proficiency is required for all roles).
FULL-TIME: designed exclusively for university bachelor's/master's degree graduates in Computer Science or related field, who have completed their study program in the last 12 months from time of application (or less than six months from concluding their study program); looking to start their professional career in the industry.
Hiring Process: Application > CV Review > Technical Coding Online Assessment (OA) > Technical Coding Phone Screen (TPS) > Three (3) Final Interviews.
Selected candidates who are currently based 80+ kms away from their respective office, are eligible to receive in-country relocation support.

As Software Development Engineer(s), selected candidate(s) will have the chance to have an impact on thousands of Amazon customers (from buyers and sellers, to Amazon employees) while working with industry-leading technologies. Amazon's LATAM Software Development Engineering organization is growing and we're looking for Software Engineer(s) with technical coding/programming academic background who thrive on learning from complex problems and are able to face challenges while working with multiple technical teams at Amazon.
The selected candidate(s) is expected to contribute to all parts of the software development and deployment lifecycle, including but not limited to: design, development, documentation, testing and operations. They will be an integral part of a team that encourages experimentation and innovation on behalf of our customers. This role will directly participate in building and correcting software in partnership with other developers within the organization.
Within this role, selected candidate(s) will not only code, but also drive the direction of the software architecture, and team best practices.

Key job responsibilities
Solving problems that center around scale, impacting the user experience of thousands of Amazon customers.
Owning software architecture, coding and technical designs.
Writing quality, maintainable code and provide/receive peer code-review feedback.
Collaborate with technical teams to define and improve user experience.
Design, develop, test, and maintain software applications and tools owned by your team.
A day in the life
Alongside their technical team, selected candidate(s) will be responsible for delivering production-ready code that will be used by thousands of Amazon customers, and own end-to-end customer experience of the services and features that are built. As an SDE I on this team, you will play a pivotal role in the following:
Work with the team to help drive business decisions.
Design, implement, test, deploy and maintain innovative software solutions to drive services optimizations, cost, and security.
Use software engineering best practices to ensure a high standard of quality for all of the team deliverables.

Basic Qualifications
For Internships: currently enrolled at a university bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, anticipating graduation within the next 24 months.
For Full-Time: completed university bachelor’s/master's degree in Computer Science or related field in the last 12 months (or currently enrolled in last six months of study program).
Preferred Qualifications
Previous technical internship experience with coding/programming languages.
