JOB SUMMARYThe PMO SME - Procurement Consultant is a high-visibility position that provides extensive opportunities to foster and grow your consulting career under the direction and guidance of dynamic management and the Executive Leadership team. Consultants engage directly with our clients on various Procurement and Supply Chain related initiatives focused on improving efficiency, driving effectiveness, and increasing their ability to influence spend and drive value through their organizations. This role will offer the candiate the opportunity to gtow and learn through various projects ranging from small, one-off projects to larger, longer-duration projects.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Be able to take direction from stakeholders at different levels and produce quality work without oversight.

  • Assist and manage workstreams within various client projects, such as operational and opportunity assessments, strategic sourcing, spend assessments, and other procurement and supply chain consulting activities for various consulting and internal projects.

  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to develop sourcing strategies aligned with the organization's goals and objectives. This may involve analyzing current sourcing practices, identifying opportunities for improvement, and setting targets for cost savings, supplier diversity, risk mitigation, and innovation

  • Play a critical role in helping organizations optimize their sourcing practices to achieve cost savings, mitigate risks, enhance supplier relationships, and drive value across the supply chain

  • Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers who can meet the organization's requirements. This includes evaluating supplier capabilities, assessing market dynamics, and identifying emerging trends that may impact sourcing decisions.

  • Develop criteria for evaluating potential suppliers based on factors such as quality, cost, reliability, and sustainability. Lead the supplier selection process, which may involve issuing requests for proposals (RFPs), conducting supplier assessments, and facilitating supplier negotiations.

  • Negotiate contracts with selected suppliers to secure favorable terms and conditions. This includes pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, service levels, and other contractual terms. Ensure contracts are legally sound and align with the organization's requirements. Also, manage ongoing supplier relationships and contract compliance.

  • Identify opportunities to reduce costs and optimize value across the supply chain. This may involve implementing strategies such as supplier consolidation, volume leverage, alternative sourcing, and process improvements to drive efficiencies and savings.

  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with the sourcing process, including supply chain disruptions, geopolitical factors, regulatory compliance, and supplier financial stability. Develop contingency plans to minimize the impact of potential risks on the organization's operations.

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to foster collaboration, innovation, and mutual success. Implement SRM strategies to enhance supplier performance, resolve issues, and drive continuous improvement.

  • Supply chain and procurement assessments: interviewing, modeling and analytics, report writing.

  • Strategic Sourcing Initiatives: scoping, market and supplier research, RFx (development, management, and evaluation), and negotiations.

  • Understanding the specific needs, challenges, and trends within various industries and integrating those into a go to market strategy.

  • Consultants can expect to report to a Project Manager for each project.

  • Support internal benchmarking, client research, proposal development, and other internal projects on an as needed basis.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • 2-7+ years of previous consulting experience with top-tier consulting firms is highly preferred.

  • An undergraduate degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Economics, Engineering, Finance, or equivalent from a top-tier school is preferred.

  • 3-6+ years of experience in procurement, either consulting or as a practitioner.

  • Expertise in strategic sourcing methodologies and category management is crucial.

  • In this role, you will gain experience through various projects, ranging from small, one-off to larger, longer-duration projectsStrong quantitative & presentation skills

  • Strong quantitative & presentation skills (Data Analytics, advanced Excel & PowerPoint) are required.

  • This position will assist and manage workstreams within various client projects, such as operational and opportunity assessments, strategic sourcing, spend assessment, and other procurement activities.

  • Strategic sourcing iniatives

  • Advanced level skills with financial assessments, data assessments, MS Excel (including pivot tables), charts and graphs, and MS PowerPoint presentations.

  • Experience sourcing IT (software, hardware, and telecom are desired, but any indirect sourcing experience will be considered).

  • Project experience working for F500 clients advising on large software contracts with big suppliers, Microsoft, SAP, Oracle, etc., is highly valued.

  • Technical proficiency with spend assessments and visibility tools to scope opportunity assessments, e.g., create spend assessments, establish baseline spend, and calculate realized savings from sourcing events.
