Amazon Data Center Operator Intern in Santiago De Queretaro, Mexico

Description

As an intern, you will partner with senior Data Center Operations (DCO) leaders and colleagues to learn how to deliver network and compute infrastructure in data centers. You will receive training to provide day-to-day assistance with capacity management and data center operations, including Break & Fix support.

Candidates shall be autonomous, detail oriented, possess written and verbal communication skills and basic knowledge in supporting large scale, enterprise class networks.

The desire to work in a fast paced, collaborative environment is essential. Candidates should be willing to work both independently and with a team. This team works in an environment that operates 24/7.

In addition to learning about an impactful project, you will have the opportunity to engage with Amazonians for both personal and professional development, expand your network, and participate in activities with other interns throughout your internship. We give you the tools to own your project and learn in a real-world setting.

Amazon adopts a hybrid work model and all employees, including interns, are required to work from the office 3x per week. Interns at Amazon Mexico work 6hs a day (30hs/week) for 12 months (between Aril 2024 and April 2025). Participants will join Amazon as Interns at our Queretaro Amazon Data Services.

Key job responsibilities

  • Basic knowledge in most aspects of installation and troubleshooting of networking hardware, software and fiber connectivity, combined with a background in project delivery methodology is desirable.

  • Follow agreed timelines and guidance to ensure the stability and sustainability of AWS next-generation networks.

  • Regularly lift and/or move equipment and network gear up to 39lbs.; and participate in group lifts for 39+lbs.

  • Learn to work with established best practices to refine operational procedures, participate in develop of new tooling and always think about ways to improve the current procedures and processes.

We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:

Santiago De Queretaro, MEX

Basic Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a Technical or Bachelor Degree, Information Technologies, Computer Sciences or other related field with a graduation conferral date between July 2023 and July 2025

  • Available to complete a 12-month internship

  • Available to work 6 hours a day from Monday to Friday, totaling 30 hours a week, within business hours

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to read, understand and speak/communicate ideas with native English speakers.

  • Advanced ability to communicate verbally and in written form in Spanish

  • Basic network infrastructure implementation and troubleshooting skills combined with a proven documentation methodology.

  • Ability to interact efficiently with peers and customers
