Job Description:

We are currently seeking a Regional Logistics & Trade Compliance Specialist - Americas to join our team Veracio team in Santiago, Chile.

The Regional Logistics & Trade Compliance Specialist - Americas will be responsible for Logistics Operations in addition to leading strategic projects with regards to Logistics operations, customs compliance and 3PL/ 4PL management. This role is directly accountable for delivering results in the following key areas:

Leadership Duties

  • Lead team of logistics and customs professionals within the Americas region to meet company goals and objectives and deliver to customers’ expectations.

  • Develop logistics team members through regular trainings, setting clear goals, KPI’s and opportunities for improvement.

  • Set individual and team goals for each team member.

  • Manage personal development and succession planning for regional logistics team.

  • Establish strong internal stakeholder management towards Sales, Customer Service Teams, Manufacturing, Planning, Fulfillment, Drilling Services and Products Division, Warehouse Management teams and Regional Supply Chain Managers.

  • Implement and enforce regional communication matrix and escalation processes for regional issues and inquiries.

  • Ensure that communications are managed by the correct party both promptly and proactively.

  • Implement system of accountability and delegation of operational tasks to regional owner. Tasks include import/export management, broker management, document retention, invoice audit, and KPI Management.

  • Lead and participate in projects with cross functional teams (such as Tax and Finance) to implement controls and solutions that are required for all aspects of the business and in accordance to the law.

Duties

  • Create and maintain a database of HS codes, values, depreciation, shipping information, etc. to facilitate efficient and compliant international shipments.

  • Be the system super user for Oracle and TMS.

  • Learn and understand trade compliance requirements for each country and jurisdiction within the North America and LATAM regions.

  • Learn and understand operational and business requirements for import/export.

  • Provide support and training (as needed) to junior team members to learn and understand requirements for shipping and logistics.

  • Provide regional support on transportation management systems, including user access, training, error resolution and troubleshooting.

  • Work with regional and global leaders to develop strategy that is aligned with the needs of the business.

  • Implement and drive strategy for regional transportation and trade compliance to business leaders and operational teams within region.

  • Identify opportunities for most efficient distribution channels and transportation modes, lanes and regional networks.

  • Lead and implement cost savings projects to deliver on cost savings and add value to the business.

  • Manage periodic review of regional costs (prior year) vs. current.

  • Implement actions to reduce cost.

  • Report out cost savings results on a monthly basis to regional and global business leaders.

  • Lead Freight and Logistics Sourcing projects for regional and global distribution.

  • Negotiate rates and service levels per the requirements of the business.

Performance Duties

  • Strong Vendor Management.

  • Establish KPI’s and cost metrics that are customer focused and linked to company goals.

  • Manage periodic review of Key Performance Indicators and process improvements.

  • Identify gaps in performance and assign corrective actions to BLY operations teams and 3PL providers. KPI’s to be measured include the following (but are not limited to): Achieve 100% compliance of freight and customs invoices for accuracy per agreed upon rates.

  • Achieve shipping lead time targets for all inbound and outbound shipments.

  • Deliver accurate data and timely reporting to internal customers which includes: Shipments in transit, ETA’s, delivery date status for all orders, temporary imports, exonerations, and renewal dates.

  • Achieve 100% compliance of document retention through implementation of documentation filing system for all transactions, imports, exports, exoneration & temporary imports, carrier contracts.

  • Ensure that all temporary imports, exonerations, and assets requiring a renewal of paperwork are done on time and with accordance with local customs and tax laws.

  • Achieve regional and global cost reduction targets identified for freight and logistics

Qualifications

  • Bilingual (fluent) in English and Spanish.

  • 4-year degree in International Trade, Logistics and/or Supply Chain Management, preferably MBA Working experience in Logistics Operations (Freight & Logistics) / Supply Chain Management >5 years Very good knowledge of Supply Chain Management, Logistics networks, international transport modes, preferably Customs regulations, team-player attitude, and a strong communicator.

  • Very good MS Office and ERP skills, preferably very good Oracle knowledge Strong verbal, written communication skills in English and Spanish.

  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects to expected deadlines.
