Sinclair Broadcast Group Producer, Podcasts (Sports) in Santa Monica, California

Sinclair, Inc. is looking for a Producer, Podcasts to help develop, produce, and grow a slate of new and ongoing podcasts, with a focus on sports content.

Candidates must have experience in the podcast, radio, or TV space (or similar), with strong content development skills across multiple digital and linear channels. Basic knowledge of audio + video production, including recording and editing equipment and software, is a requirement.

The role requires someone who can showrun multi-channel content across a variety of formats. You should be able to oversee the entire process from the onset: ideation, to development, to launch, to ongoing development and growth. Collaborating with talent, production staff, senior leadership, and key stakeholders, will be a vital component of the role.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead the day-to-day production for a variety of podcasts, supporting in all aspects of content development, editing, publishing, promotion, and monetization

  • Conceptualize new show launches from scratch, collaborating with talent and senior leadership on content, formatting, production, and distribution strategies

  • Lead a team of show editors, associate producers, and social coordinators, creating a collaborative team environment

  • Effectively communicate with all cross-functional teams, ensuring information is delivered to the proper parties, including sales, marketing, and PR.

  • Educate and elevate all talent and staff, coaching them on best practices, maximizing their skillsets

  • Ensure all sponsorship requirements are completed and QC’d, including host-read ads, sponsored segments, and video/social integrations

  • Collaborate with internal teams to execute an effective promotional strategy across a variety of mediums

  • Assist in recording episodes, along with guest booking and coordination, both in person and remotely

  • Create and manage production schedules and calendars to ensure deliverables are met in a timely manner

  • Keep up with news and trends to understand how to develop programming based on what is resonating with audiences

  • Assemble all episode files and QC before publishing to ensure quality standards are high

  • Track show analytics and audience trends, use creative judgement to help shape future editorial decisions

  • Liaise with senior leadership to provide show updates, feedback, and growth plans

  • Other duties as assigned

Who You Are:

  • 4+ years of content development experience in podcasts, radio, television or similar

  • Strong passion for sports; knowledge of current and historical information across a variety of teams and leagues, both pro and collegiate

  • Highly skilled with audio + video recording and editing software and hardware

  • Collaborative leader, able to both give and take direction/feedback on various projects

  • Extremely well organized, able to manage projects at various stages simultaneously

  • A willingness to problem solve, and an attitude to always do what is needed to get the job done

  • A creative outside-the-box thinker, ideating new ways to engage audiences across a variety of platforms

  • Ability to work efficiently against a deadline, ensuring projects are moving along on time without sacrificing quality

  • Strong understanding of growth strategies of multi-channel content and how podcasts can be distributed across a variety of mediums

  • Knowledge of audio + video podcast hosting platforms (i.e. Megaphone, YouTube)

  • Comfortable working directly with high-profile talent, maintaining a professional demeanor

  • Flexibility to work mornings, nights and/or weekends, as projects call for

The base salary compensation range for this role is $65,000 to $85,000. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidates’ relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location. Full time positions are eligible for benefits that include participation in a retirement plan, life and disability insurance, health, dental and vision plans, flexible spending accounts, sick leave, vacation time, personal time, parental leave and employee stock purchase plan.
